"I will be totally shocked if the competition committee does not uphold us on what we're trying to do," Wooten said, according to CBSSports.com. "We want this word to be policed from the parking lot to the equipment room to the locker room.
"Secretaries, PR people, whoever, we want it eliminated completely and want it policed everywhere."
Wooten thinks the competition committee will officially agree to the rule next month before presenting it to the owners.
Can somebody please talk to the irony of white people using the word and stirring up the media (at the beginning of the season, a white wide receiver was caught on tape being extremely racist and was disciplined and chastised), then black people being punished for it by getting "policed?" I would be amazed if these punishments (including 15-yard penalties during games and almost certainly monetary fines) are given to any white players, it will be black players every time talking their normal jive.
Does political correctness work? Is it even genuine?
To sports fans: How would you feel if your team scored and then, for no apparent reason, they are penalized because some ref through a flag somewhere and claimed he heard it? Hurting The Product (R)
