I just got off the phone from a woman from the U.S as I was ordering a skincare set and she commented on my "Canadian accent" - WTF I have no accent. My voice sounded the same as hers. The woman was probably just a loon that was 'hearing things' in my opinion as I definitely don't have any kind of f*cking accent (I'm from Ontario! good god, we sound American as apple pie).

Why do Americans seem to think this?

My boyfriend is from New Jersey and for the most part he and I sound the same. But then he says words like "bought" and it's like... yeah....

I dunno, I don't think I have a distinguishable accent either (I'm from Toronto). Though, like most people from Toronto, I do say "Toronno".

Many Canadians have accents. Deal with it!

The funny thing is, every time you've said on the phone "that person has a strong Canadian accent" they were actually Indian.

Well, you do have an accent. Everyone does. It depends on your frame of reference.
I'm from MN, and I hear people from north of me, or from north dakota, and I am amazed at their pseudo-Scandinavian accent.

Do you have any idea what part of the US (if the US at all) she was from?
My work here is, finally, done.

I know some people from Ontario and while it's not significantly noticeable, I could tell that they spoke a little differently.
