I think there are many, many, many more adult bullies in society than children. I think this is a BIGGER problem than school bullying

Here are a few that come top of mind:

Political campaigners
Certain Comedians
Member of KKK/Neo Nazi organizations
Certain of every profession from Business to Law to Sports.

I think bullies have been seen as stronger than others and so not dealt with

Thoughts?

I'm sorry, but it's annoying watching you whine about trivial concerns. It's clear that you live a sheltered life, and that you've never really faced any actual problems. Please, out of respect, or even if this is just a troll, be quiet.

If you are trying to make me like you, you won't succeed no matter how deeply you try to 'pretend' you know something about who I am, or who others are. Cheap tricks for debate are so transparent. Maybe not to you though clearly, you are pretty mainstream.

You haven't faced any serious problems in your life -- I can tell. This kind of whinging is reserved for those with little conception of reality (which is why you think I'm trying to get you to like me). For example, people competing in the workplace (or bullying each other, as you put it) doesn't compare to having your leg blown off in a war, and becoming dependent on others for the rest of your life.

Okay so it took me all of 1 response to weed out an example of what kind of behavior is the role model for kids.

We can deal with kid bullying but will never succeed while these will be their behavioral examples for life. (benign, in this case I know, but we all know the types)

I'll just leave it there. I think it proves the point.

Well that is non sequitur having a leg blown off does not make you dependent on others for the rest of your life.

You youngins always talking about stuff you have no concept of. Like war.

Yes, my mistake, but the sentiment is still the same.

You youngins always talking about stuff you have no concept of. Like war.

You oldies are always presumptuous of 'youngins'. One of my friends of the past had an uncle who had recently been to war. I met him before I was told that, and it was so intuitively clear that he had something terrible happen to him. He kept his head down most of the time, and his smile was so forced. He was like this everytime I saw him.

I was never told what had happened to him, other than he had been to war. This isn't to say that I have a great concept of war, but I've had a glimpse of what it can do to people. So, I certainly don't have 'no concept' of war, just very little. You'd do well not to be so arrogantly presumptuous, in the future.

I disagree. Children, who are still learning who they are and understanding interpersonal relationships, are definitely more adversely affected by abuse from others than adults are.

Nonetheless, I agree that there are adult bullies, because although some bullies become sociopaths and some, criminals, others just continue being bullies in a more general and slightly less punishable sense.

As adults, they're just known as ***holes, generally.

But, adults are less susceptible to the pains of abusive people, especially when they aren't physically abusive. Furthermore, it's a lot more obvious how tragic bullies are to adults, who are a lot less inclined to internalize negative feelings and assume that it has something to do with their personal identities.

Charming.

I take it you're pretty accustomed to day-to-day life as an adult and have encountered enough ***holes in professional settings to have a pretty strong opinion about the subject, eh?

You didn't mention policemen. I know for a fact some people become a cop because they can't do anything else that would give them the same authority to screw people over. This calls for a reformation on the way police interact with the public, which has been ruined since the war on drugs began because every citizen became a suspected criminal.

I didn't realize 16 years old had actual problems. Try living on your own before you talk like you've been through sh*t and other people haven't. Child bullying is an actual issue right now, and he's trying to bring up an honest discussion, not have some 16 yr old girl think she knows his life story.

Grow thicker skin.

Yep. Sounds like what I was talking about. Go express your outrage at kid bullying next.

Enjoy being over-sensitive pulp.

Children this meow uncalled for.

: : Enjoy being over-sensitive pulp.

LOL perfect. You are just making this so easy!

I recommend that you stay indoors for the rest of your life; it's too mean out there for you.

Ouch! Your such a bully.

Well that is non sequitur having a leg blown off does not make you dependent on others for the rest of your life.

Pot...watch calling that kettle black will ya.

I love your post. I am a 'she' too btw. I feel kinda sorry for her, she seems pretty desperate to be noticed. I wonder if she knows how clueless she sounds to everyone else? You are correct though, no life experience, just books and other people's ideas. That'll change.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, I think adults are hurt in different ways. We've all seen it in the workforce, adult social circles etc. And of course they can take it much better. But I think if we want to end it as a societal practice, we need to start with being a better example for kids. They say abuse breeds abuse, I think that's true. I can't stand watch campaign ads anymore. I mean how dare those people talk about bullying in schools after spending money to distort truth and make people look bad.

The wonderful irony of this all is that my behaviour that you're complaining about is exactly the kind of behaviour you are exhibiting. You must be a troll; people like you can't be real. I'm ignoring you from now on. P*ss off.

But you won't ignore me. So I wanted to you to come to my conclusion and you finally did. YOU proved:

1. Poor behavior examples catch
2. Other people recognize poor bahavior and can make a difference my jumping in
3. Presumptions and lies lead to other presumptious lies.

I do sincerely hope you will learn to debate fairly and with more educated responses because what you are doing out here is really unproductive.

AGain, thank you for helping me prove my point, you've been terrific, actually.
