I have a feeling there is more to the story, but this is incredibly dumb.
As for the last straw, it's not a straw, ergo, it pitiful.

Give the guy some slack. He simply got two words mixed up. If the teacher actually was talking about "homophobia", then it may have very well been slanted and biased education.
