I think what people wear can be a good indicator of a lot of things about them. I can typically tell instantly by looking at somebody if they are more likely to be a meth addict or not, white trash or not, professional or not, etc.

(Note: I said more likely. No 100% predictor is available)

None of the girls here wear heels with their booty shorts.

You really do reinforce the stereotype that gay guys are promiscuous and overly sexual.

I don't think it's ever appropriate to say that a women is a slut or whatever because of the clothes they wear.

That being said, *some* judgement based on clothes are okay, because they reflect our choices. For instance, wearing jeans and sneakers to a professional meeting is certainly going to result in me judging someone, but--importantly--it's not the kind of judgement the OP is referencing. The kind of judgement the OP talks about is categorically unacceptable.

What's the difference? Someone wearing jeans and sneakers doesn't necessarily mean they are bad at their job, just like a woman wearing revealing clothes doesn't necessarily mean she will put out for anyone.

Makiuru makes a very good point. This is really why I was not disappointed when you left, and I think it's generally unfortunate that you're back.

I mean, if you want to have certain reactions, and talk about them you're certainly within your rights, but it's not making anyone take what you say seriously.

I don't necessarily JUDGE a guy by his clothes, but it does affect my evaluation of if I want to get to know them.

For example, if I see a guy who is sloppily dressed and generally I'll-groomed, I won't approach them ( or as of now, any other guy except my fiancee). Like guys who wear a two day or more growth of beard. It just turns me off. I know, some people think it's sexy. I think it just shows bad grooming and potentially poor personal hygiene. Do they also not brush their teeth for 2+ days? I don't want to find out.

I don't see how any of that is measuring their worth beyond their perceived sexual proclivity. I find the whole campaign a bit misogynist, since it appears the only worth a woman has is sex appeal.

A person's clothes usually don't say anything about them, per se. They say something about how a person wishes to be perceived by others.

TN doesn't make sexual comments in every section of the forums all day every day.

And I don't either. I talk a lot about sex, and I like to talk about sex... just as it seems that you like to b!tch about other people.

Grant, that's ok though. It's just hilarious that here, in this moment, you have literally exposed yourself as a hypocrite and a homophobe in two posts made within a few minutes of one another. It's like you're a walking example of how to be an ignorant white dude.

Again, you're surely within your rights to hold and profess any stupid set of ideas you want... but when you do, I'm going to call you out on them *every* single time, and that's just something you're going to have to deal with.

I apologize, that was rude of me and obviously said out of malicious intent. I was out of place, please forgive me. I've just been having a lousy go of it lately.

Fine.

I don't care about whether an ideology is "necessary" or not,
I care about how to solve problems,
which is what everyone else should also care about.

Ken~
In essence, the world is fucked up and you can either ignore it, become cynical or bitter about it.

One thing I always wondered about is push up bras. I mean, isn't that like...lying. All these things woman do to themselves to look good but be the time they do they don't look like themselves anymore. You are what you wear as they say. That campaign is silly.

Read and discuss.

A person's clothes usually don't say anything about them, per se. They say something about how a person wishes to be perceived by others.

Well, my clothes say I give up.
My work here is, finally, done.
