Does anyone know of any retailers that have modest clothes for girls? I have yet to find skirts or dresses that are knee length or longer.

Seriously, children's clothes should be cute, not sexy.

It really is quite sad some of the things I see young girls wearing these days. I'm glad to see that some people still care about modesty.

ahhh, the old debate semantics trick! :o) No, I am just picky about what type of clothing my daughters can wear. Others may dress as they choose or are allowed.

While it may not go over very well on DDO, or society in general, it is my opinion, and they are my daughters.

Nah, that's good that you care about modesty. It seems rare these days to find those type of people.

My point wasn't to you. I was just wondering if those that wear immodest clothing consider themselves immodest.

I don't like people dictating what I wear. My mom doesn't give a sh*t what I wear except what I really care about. I like nice underwear and its not like anyone will see it, I just like feeling nice and good and the better the underwear the better I feel. Other then that I also don't care as long as I don't look like a slut. I would like more emo clothes and less preppy/slutty looking clothes, I also wouldn't mind having guys clothes.

She thinks that the clothes people wear matter, but in reality its just clothes and it doesn't matter. As long as no one (human or animal) were hurt or killed in making the clothes. As long as they weren't forced to wear them is another big thing. Can't think of anything else that would matter as far as clothes go.

Just underwear, it makes me feel either dirty or amazing and even a little sexy. Mom will only let me get underwear fro the kid section at wal mart.

No one should force someone to dress in a way that would make people think a certain way. I think the children deserve to have a say in the clothes they get to wear and not just a "well she's my daughter and I want her to dress this way" thing. Keep in mind she's a person too, and if you force her to wear only clothes you aprove without her say, she is the one that has to live with it.

Of course I agree with your concern don't get me wrong look into more modest clothes, but things I would avoid
1) picking clothes she does not like
2) getting only dresses/skirts, or even many of either
3) getting too much pink or directly just girlish clothes.

I hate it. I stole a thong from my stepsis, and got my stepmom to buy me another one, along with some nice bras that aren't odd fitting.

It's probably because I'm male, but I wear clothes to serve a purpose.

If it's warm, I was shorts.
If it's cold, a I wear a jacket.

If I'm going to a party, Jeans and tee.
A party with chicks, same, but with some form of shirt to make me look cool.

Same I wear clothes for warmth. I always wear jeans though and have to be on the verge of death to get me to wear a dress. Always jeans and shirt, I wear more jackets and coats if its cold out.

eww no. Shorts feel uncomfy to me. I can't stand them. Plus I don't like showing my legs too often since thats where I used to cut. Wearing shorts like you and my dad try and get me to do (he tries to force me) would lead to questions that could bring back painful memories that I work hard to forget.

I think girls that wear shorts in feb are nuts. And anyone that wears dresses on a regular basis. I feel so exposed in dresses, no matter the length.

Dresses make me feel too exposed too, don't worry. You're not the only one. In fact, shorts make me feel too exposed too.
