Someone gave me this little rap about how he/she feels about school, and I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences. Personally, I do not do many of the things this person explains in his/her rap, and I tend to differ with several points of what he/she says.

Don't even think bout tellin me watta do
When Im outta school and away from you.
Don't take away my drinks, my drugs, my kicks,
Just so you can keep up your reps as bein d!cks.
You bore us in class and in the hallways
It seems like hours keep turning into days.
Give us something to think about, to ponder,
But you won't, cuz you're too lazy, no wonder.
You lucky the state makes us stay in school
Or else you'd have nuthin to do but doodle.
We don't need your work, we need to chill,
All we wanna do is relax and pop some pills.

That little rap certainly applies to a fair amount of the kids I knew in High School. As time progressed, there were those who adamantly pursued college (therefore taking their academics seriously) and then there were those who grew increasingly apathetic and skipped class to do drugs, or came to class high. An idiot friend of mine came to class after taking salvia, and he was later suspended. By senior year a lot of people dropped out despite making it to the end.

I had my moments of apathy, but I can't really connect with the rap fully since I paid attention to my academics and didn't do any hard drugs. I did often have a problem in that I felt like I wasn't learning anything, or my classes were just going too slow. Researching and studying things pertinent to my interests outside of school remedied my issues.

I'll bold parts I agree with. Even if it does not pertain to my life.

So I guess just the first half I agree with.

He/she (I'm gonna guess she for multiple reasons) has every right to be an idiot. The school has no right to stop her.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

People like this are the reason I'm so glad to be done with high school. It wasn't the teachers that made high school suck. It was the students.

i think people like that should be allowed to live the life they want for awhile... hopefully they'll learn something from it

it would only really work if their parents stopped supporting them though...
evidently i only come to ddo to avoid doing homework...

Very well. He goes through an accredited program so he can get into college/get his diploma. He get all A's, except in Algebra where he gets a few B's.

That's fairly well home-schooled. I hope you enjoy college!

School Sucks. Drop out.
