The Atlantic reported today that UC Davis, a public university in California, paid at least one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars ($175,000.00) to remove references to an incident in which dozens of college kids, who had "assembled" on campus were pepper sprayed by police, back in 2011, from the internet.

How could this be? By the magic of a PR firm, of course. With a fifteen thousand dollar ($15,000.00) per month retainer, UC Davis paid (with student tuition and taxpayer money) to clean up references to the incident on the internet.

Several words come to mind, with regard to describing this. Disgraceful. Disgusting. Deplorable. Depraved. Alliteration aside, UC Davis is an embarrassment to higher education.
