Why do Americans think that Latino is a race? The Spanish language comes from Spain, a Caucasian country. Latinos are a multi racial linguistic community. There are whites, native American Indians and blacks and every mixture. Latino or Hispanic is not and will never be a race. Get over yourselves.

because most latinos in the US are mestizos from Central America. not mulattoes from brazil, not whites from chile or argentina, not natives from peru, et cetera.

if you got more people from those groups immigrating here, you might have a point. assuming people wouldn't stop using the label first (they would).

as far as rhetorical questions go, this is one of the dumb ones.

they're part spaniard and part native. certainly not a random hodgepodge of totally heterogeneous peoples that have nothing in common beside language... as OP implied.

My point is proven.

Then why bother commenting oh high and mighty one. You have proven your false intellectual superiority which unmasks your inferiority. Goodbye

"Latino" basically means half-Spanish (a people who had centuries to intermingle with their Muslim occupiers) and half-Native American. To call them white is like saying an otherwise white person is Native American because they're 1/64th Cherokee.

Never said they where white exclusively. Read my post. And most Spaniards are white. That's a fact. I have 1/32nd Cree in my blood. I'm still white and identify as white.
