I hate how society frowns upon men crying because crying is seen as "weak" and "feminine." Maybe this isn't much of a problem anymore as I have seen lots of men cry and get proper help and support for it but it's still not fair for society to oppress men by saying they have to be stoic and robotic at all times. That's not right and that's also NOT fair!

I am very emotional and get depressed all the time. I REFUSE to be a slave of injustice, emotional oppression, and emotional manipulation!

I hate how people make it look like all men care about sex every few seconds, which ISN'T F**KING TRUE!

I WILL NOT allow some perverts to determine who I am as a person because everyone is different in their own way and NOT EVERYONE can fall under a cruel stereotype.

It's not fair that women can do anything they want to while men are so limited and oppressed in society!

Crying doesn't make you weak! It's a way to let out sadness and cope with stressful situations!

Men are NOT robots! We shouldn't be treated like this! We should be treated FAIRLY!

I hope feminism DIES soon and gets replaced with masculism and egalitarianism so that men can FINALLY be treated EQUALLY and not treated like used sex slaves who are just left to rot in the fire!

I can cry if I want to! I'm not going to let ANY moronic and useless sh*thead sexist get in my way, EVER!

I feel oppressed and depressed. I also feel hopeless. I feel like no one cares. I feel like a lost soul and a lost cause. I feel like a ghost. I feel like the government isn't doing enough to STOP sexism against men and give men equal rights!

It would really mean a lot to me if the government could get their heads out of their a*ses and maybe like TALK about misandry and STOP sexism against men!

EVERYONE deserves to feel pain and sadness, to have real, authentic emotions because emotions are the keys to our soul and just a part of us that sometimes have to be released! Men, crying doesn't make you weak AND you can share your emotions with other people! ANYONE who says otherwise is a stupid, worthless piece of sh*t!

Thank you for reading this!

Well... all that may be true the fact is men are just supposed to shut up and take it. There doesn't have to be a good reason beyond the fact some people just hate the fact you have a penis and they don't, and yes sometimes their physical appearance would make more sense if they did have one... but again that isn't your problem so don't internalize it too much. Misandry is really no new in thing for women with low self-esteem. I know when I am called an "a**hole pig" I have won the battle against an inferior sub-human that Can't Understand Normal Thinking... at this point its best to just grin, light up a cigarette, and laugh in their face. I don't really feel good about it but do take solace in the fact that this is a person I probably won't have to look at again and sometimes that just makes having to deal with trash a little more bearable.

As far as the government goes they try to use women just to keep men in check since most men know everything they do is toward the detriment of the human race. They know if they can keep men busy paying for completely irresponsible female spending habits and fill their lives with meaningless BS jobs (which thankfully are being pushed on women too now) men will be too exhausted to fight back or actually do anything about their situation couple this with the reprogramming of a state run education system designed to make men feel inferior from the age about 5 years old. Its all about control. Everything in this society is designed to make you feel like you do right now. It was designed that way by weak men out of fear of the strong ones.

Knowing this, you really can't take such constructs to heart. Honestly I wish there was more misandry when I was younger... it may have stopped me from putting my penis a few places I regret because the crazy is more upfront now. In any case I take pride in the fact I am a man and there's a whole system devoted to trying to destroy me... it actually feels kinda awesome... in a Mad Max sense.

At any rate don't give these people any power over you at all... they are all idiots and I'm not saying that to make you feel better... I mean... just look at them. If anything I'm more upset about sharing their oxygen.

The rest is good points... same BS statistics forever. I remember being told in schools men think about sex every 15 seconds... really? Maybe I think about sex for 15 seconds after an orgasm... then I think about sleep. Then when I wake up I either think about more sex if it was good or typically food if it wasn't... then I think about money and how I'm gonna make some this week, then I think about getting dressed, then I think about traffic... well hell, you get the picture. I think if I thought about sex every 15 seconds I'd just sit in bed and jerk off to porn all day. No functioning adult honestly thinks about sex anywhere near that much. Honestly, for me I'd put it somewhere between doing laundry and playing video games.

I mean it definitely isn't nearly as important as women think it is to guys and frankly, its probably the third most important thing to me in a relationship. First being trust and second being attitude. I tend to attract and tend to be attracted to decently hot women so that being the case I tend not to notice other women as much. Might sound misogynistic but I generally find people are attracted to similar minds which can be a shame at times because I'll admit I have a sort of narcissistic and shallow side that I tend to enjoy and like my women a little eccentric. Even so a woman I enjoy being around is far more attractive to me than any good looks... though I do respect women women who keep themselves in shape like I do more than ones who don't... they typically have better attitudes to boot. Its also nice to be with people who share adventures, hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

Also as I grow ever older, sex becomes a lot less important to me. There's a big world to explore and I've seen a lot of it but I definitely would classify myself as more of an adrenaline junkie than a sex addict. Its just another problem with the social narrative were all supposed to follow... but the more of the world you see the more you realize... society is in and of itself quite comical. Definitely something not worth killing yourself over.

I agree with you for the most part but I don't agree with the very first sentence you said which was, "...men are supposed to just shut up and take it." That's definitely not true as men shouldn't have to hold in their emotions all the time!

The third paragraph was a little too much information to be honest. I don't think it's cool in the fact that the government is trying to destroy me and every other man on Earth. That's not fair! Don't you want to have equal rights or do you just want to be oppressed and treated like a villain?

I agree with you. Men DO NOT think about sex every 15 seconds! That is complete BS! NO ONE can physically or mentally think about sex every few seconds, otherwise everyone would be jerking off and sexually harassing/sexually assaulting people in public!

It really depends on how you view things. If you believe that gender roles are a totally meaningless social construct, then certainly there'd be no reason to believe that men are obliged to fulfill their traditional gender roles.
If you DO believe that men and women should follow their traditional gender roles, then men should be expected to show a tough front and not cry or show fear.

Gender roles are a bunch of sexist BS! Gender roles are outdated and do nothing but oppress men and women!

People don't have to follow sexist gender roles because gender roles do nothing but spread hatred, misogyny, and misandry!

Why would anyone want men and women to follow gender roles when gender roles are basically the root of the problem with sexist against both men AND women?!

If gender roles weren't created, then we probably wouldn't have to put up with all this stupid sexist BS in the first place!

Society makes me sick! There's SO MUCH that the U.S. and even the world itself needs to work on and improve!

Gender roles were originally put into place as the most efficient form of division of labour. Whenever there was lots of heavy, backbreaking work to be done, the physical structure of men was naturally better suited for the job. Whenever said couple had children, well, women were generally much better at childrearing than their male counterparts.
In short, men were expected to be tough and do physically demanding stuff while women were expected to be mothers and take care of the home, because it would've been idiotic to see these roles reversed in that period of time. Men were the head of the household, because men generally have a much greater desire for respect, power, and reputation. This position of patriarch came with many responsibilities, including the responsibilities of protecting the household and making sure that there was food on the table. Women were essentially powerless, but without modern society "empowering" women they would have a much lesser desire to dominate anyway, so it's something that they could do without in exchange for security. The assumption that the "perks" of the male role are inherently better than the "perks" of the female role in a traditional society is in itself a chauvinistic and sexist viewpoint.
Personally, I do not see the problem with traditional gender roles. They make for a much nicer society if both sides fulfil their gender role obligations and try to make the other side happy, though I understand that we will fundamentally disagree on this.

I respect your opinion and I am not forcing you to agree with me.

I do see a problem with traditional gender roles because they're no longer necessary anymore! I can understand if it was the caveman/cavewoman times but we're way past those times! Gender roles just aren't that necessary anymore as today's modern society is more government and equality-minded.

People during the caveman/cavewoman times weren't very government/equality-minded so of course, they used gender roles because at the time, gender roles didn't cause any harm or prejudice. They just helped get the job done, like you said.

But nowadays, we don't need gender roles anymore as they only increase sexual discrimination and impose unfair rules that are both misandric and misogynistic in terms of equality and equal justice.

This is why so many people, including me, are fighting against social and political gender roles as they pretty much treat men and women unfairly and lead to division, separation, and feminism which is just a fancy way of saying misandry.

I agree that the modern era has changed the equation quite a bit. For instance, *most* men in the United States do not have physically strenuous jobs, while child-rearing hasn't really gotten any easier. That is unfair, obviously. Furthermore, traditional gender roles are looked upon by most people as an anachronism given the rise of working women. In our present United States traditional gender roles are gone for good, and any attempt to forcefully bring traditional gender roles back into the public sphere would fail. Since this is the case, then sure, you should be able to cry as much as you want.

Gender roles create hate. They create fear. They force women to overcome overwhelming expectations and don't benefit men at all. They also reinforce rape culture by objectifying women (since, with gender roles, women are only good in bed and in the kitchen). They also contradict same-sex marriage and force people into different-sex marriage. But what if you're bisexual or gay or asexual? Where would the two women or two men fit then if both have the same role in their marriage? And what about the asexual person who doesn't want to get married? Or that person who is of whatever sexuality but pursues a job rather than be tied down by marriage and kids?
Let's not even start on transgenders within gender norms.
Gender is not a binary construct is what I'm trying to say.

Gender roles aren't inclusive for minorities (just as they aren't for the cisgender straight people). It's not as if everyone fits into some sort of box that you imagine society to have for them. You can't fit a rectangular peg into a round hole.

So... you feel like you can't cry as often or as freely as you want to because, what, women will point and laugh at you? Give me a break, kid. How about you take responsibility for your own feelings instead of acting like it's society's job to manage that for you, because the truth is, no one really gives af if you cry or not, and even if they did, who cares? You're being a little b*tch about this, tbh. Ironically, you manning-up and crying when and where you want to would be a greater display of security in your masculinity than this whiny nonsense.

You want to be a man, don't you? What kind of man cries to the government to stop women from making him feel bad for having emotions? You want to replace feminism with masculinism? It starts with you, kid; so grow a pair of balls and ball your eyes out, already.

I don't believe in masculinity and femininity because those are just made up constructs.

I am a man. I want men to be treated on the same equal pedestal as women instead of being oppressed.

I have cried in public MANY times before so it's not like I hide my emotions in public! I really don't!

Sorry you didn't get the memo, but men aren't being oppressed. that's like believing in reverse racism. Everyone is stared at when they cry in public. It's not because you are male, it's because society generally asks that people don't go out in public if they're too 'emotional.' But even if only men weren't 'allowed' to cry in public, that doesn't compare to being more likely to be impoverished, be sexually abused, be discriminated against in the workplace, make less money for equal work, be raped, etc. Do you really need anyone to tell you that women are disadvantaged in this world? In some countries, women can only travel with a male relative/husband and can't go to school or work at all. Girls are constantly slutshamed, objectified, sexually harassed, and judged only based on their appearance. How oppressed do you feel?
Btw, I think every woman wants men to be treated equally to woman. Then, maybe you would begin to understand what it's like to be touched inappropriately and hit on by someone who could be your father.

Well, I'm willing to bet that feminists don't want men to be treated equally to women because all feminists do are discriminating against men and giving women more privileges than men.

There is a legitimate struggle for women's freedom. I do agree in some respect feminist power has abused the system.
It is understandable for men to cry, although much less, you are still young and it is reasonable for you to cry. Other men or boys won't admit they cry because they want you to see the image that they show you. They hide the image that they think they are and cover up who they really are. There is no reason to feel threatened by these charlatans, these hypocrites, they are nothing but imposters and blowhards. When you try to reluctantly expose them you only exhibit your own weakness. Know yourself first. It is your approval that matters more.

When you are a man providing for your family you will understand why men can not cry. When all in the family turn to him in a difficult situation, he needs to exibit strength and confidence. Woman and children should never experience the fears that he has. You may way want to consider 5 ways a man must step up in this article and we can talk more. http://www.familylife.com...
When you are sad and emotional you are welcomed to message me and we can deal with it. It is not healthy for you to be depressed. It is something everyone will go through, and they will each have a different experience. Depression is something that can turn into something much worse if not treated. So, find a good friend who can listen and be there for you when you are sad.

I read the article! It was sexist as f**k! The article antagonizes men and portrays them as people who lust after other women besides their spouse. Not only that but the article tells men to hold in their emotions and protect their family. It's a shame that the comments on the article were just as ignorant as the article itself!

Who said women can't be the head of the family? I actually know a family in which the mother actually is the head of the family while the father is a stay-at-home dad who looks after the children!

If we keep on forcing all males to be the same and all females to be the same, then we will forever be blinded by ignorance, deceit, and prejudice!

"Tears were meant to flow, not to be held in." -Sincerely me, Foodiesoul.

"Despite constituting half of the world"s population, women continue to be disproportionately represented in governance and at all levels of decision-making. Women historically and globally have been the subject of cultural and legal disabilities which have hindered women"s ability over generations to reach their full potential. Today, women participate in terms of real numbers in a minimal way in the political/parliamentary process despite their representation in populations globally. This reflects one of the last vestiges of the historical disproportion of female participation at the state and national levels of endeavor."
Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP)

This headship is not about having the upper hand, nor is it to mean that a woman has no rights or is a second-class citizen. On the contrary, God tells the husband some very serious commands:

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; 26 that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless." (Eph. 5:25-27).

Finally, the headship issue is an issue of order--not of who is better or more important. The husband is the head of the wife in the family, and he has the responsibility of guiding his family to a closer relationship with the Lord. God will require it of him on the day when all our deeds are judged by God.

This arrangement is not sexist, but to go against this arrangement is insubordinate to god's direction. For a man who does not take care of his family is worse than a man without faith. When both man and woman listen to god's direction they can enjoy a productive working relationship.
A man and woman do have different gifts to offer to the family, and the arrangement of headship in a Christian household is to promote an overall strategy towards cooperation. Even if a man is wrong, his wife would cooperate. Also, when a Wife disagrees with her husband, he should listen to her. Such humble attitudes add to the love and respect they have for each other and promotes peace and unity.
A man is to honor his wife as a fine vessel that is so valuable it is priceless. Such a vessel is held in high regard and shown off. Would he not protect and take care of such a gem.
It is similar to two people co-parenting as long as one parent's ideas or plans do not conflict with the other's, then both should be willing to yield to promote unity and love for the children involved.

Perhaps, but I would say that society should frown upon anybody being overly-emotional and crying.

I am very emotional and get depressed all the time. I REFUSE to be a slave of injustice, emotional oppression, and emotional manipulation!
Seek help please, you obviously have some mental issues up in your head.

I don't know what society you're talking about, but neither gender is oppressed in modern society.

Crying doesn't make you weak! It's a way to let out sadness and cope with stressful situations!
Not trying to cry will make one a stronger person, as they would be more fit to face emotional damage.

Everybody in the US has equal rights, inequality only plays out with personal biases. You are honestly giving yourself a false image of men being oppressed in society. This is quite the same way how white nationalists claim whites are oppressed in society, or how BLM thugs claim minorities are very oppressed in Western society.

Emotions are quite overrated; Logic, not emotions, should be the prime factor in building society.

I wouldn't say that. One could argue that people are oppressed even in a first world society.

How did my comment imply domestic violence? Women should be emotionally strong, and so should men. This has nothing to do with domestic violence. Try harder at trolling, fellow pathetic retard.

Now do you mind not being a f*cking subhuman and stalking my forum posts only to say something retarded?
