I have had the opportunity to attend a single-sex school in the past.
I had started attending a girls-only school when I was about 10 years old till when I was 15, as at the time, in my country, most public secondary schools used to be single-sex schools. I personally feel like the change from a mixed school to a single-sex school, didn't really affect me that much as a person, but that's just my opinion, and perhaps it did and I just don't notice that myself. These types of schools tend to be controversial sometimes. Discuss:

What are their pros and cons?

What's your opinion on these types of schools?

Is it better for kids, especially those going through puberty, to be in these types of schools?

Do you think it promotes abstinence more, and decreases chances of sex committed by minors?

I can only imagine the horror of testosterone-crazed boys' schools and estrogen-crazed girls' schools.

Middle and high schoolers in general are crazy because they're raging with hormones.

This could be another con for single-sex schools. Besides, chastity was one of single-sex schools' objectives, despite the explosive population of homosexuality in single-sex schools. I think the interactions between male and female might be vital in developing the natural sex orientation, so mix-sex school is probably the better choice.

However, the con of mix-sex school is probably gender-biased education. Bad education might mess up males' and females' natural development of gender roles. One of many reasons why I advocate the home-schooling.
