Is there any recent news about Palmer's situation or are the Bengals still refusing to trade him, so he threatens retirement?

He is only 30 years old and threw for over 3,000 yards last season; he may not be an elite QB at the moment, but he still has a lot left in the tank. I would hate for the NFL to lose a player of his caliber just because of what can be seen as a contract dispute.

Llast I heard about him, the Bengals were refusing to trade him and he was retiring. An analyst I was reading said that he expected the situation to resolve in January, when Palmer would be expected to reactivate himself, which would cause the Bengals to acquiesce and give him the trade in order to deal with the salary cap impact. He'll probably play or back someone up next year.
