Although the preseason polls count for nothing, I'd still be interested in seeing what others thought about them.

1. Florida (53)
2. Texas (4)
3. Oklahoma (1)
4. USC (1)
5. Alabama
6. Ohio State
7. Virginia Tech
8. Penn State
9. LSU
10. Mississippi
11. Oklahoma State
12. California
13. Georgia
14. Oregon
15. Georgia Tech
16. Boise State
17. TCU
18. Utah
19. Florida State
20. North Carolina
21. Iowa
22. Nebraska
23. Notre Dame
24. Brigham Young
25. Oregon State

Here are my views.

-Notre Dame doesn't even to be mentioned as a possibility for a top 25 team right now; they're riding the name.
-FSU and UNC are both a bit overrated; the ACC is weak.
-I don't see Oklahoma State hanging around that high very long.
-Neither Ohio State or Penn State deserve a top 10 ranking at this point; they're the best of an average bunch of teams in the Big Ten.

I see ND surprising a lot of people this year. I saw their bowl game last year and I thought they were pretty impressive. Plus they don't have a very strong schedule so I am going to say they will go 8-4 and be on the outskirt of a BCS bowl game.

9/12/09...

USC @ Ohio State...

The winner should be able to ride the Top 5 for a while. Ohio State is rebuilding on defense; USC is rebuilding on defense and at QB.

I visited Memorial Colosseum and the USC campus last month, so that should bring them bad luck. (I visited the University of Washington and Husky Stadium last summer, and they didn't win a single game last season!)

Go Bucks! Should be a decent game. Glad I'm going. :)

(Oh, and Florida will likely win it all again.)

If they manage to get into a BCS bowl game with their weak schedule and a mediocre record like that, I will be very, very pissed. Hopefully they can only ride a name so far.

Where's Auburn? I'm just kidding, I'm a diehard fan and am pissed that they didn't hire Gill Turner.

I am a Tennessee fan and did not expect a preseason top 25. Alabama is too high in this one. They are having some "team rules" problems right now and let go of some strong defensive players. Ole Miss is too high also. Ole Miss has shown the capacity to win, but seem to flounder against rivals. They are overrated at the moment, but I do wish my SEC brothers some luck; maybe this year they get things together. Florida will make a run, but the SEC is such a tough conference to win, and does not allow for many mistakes. All in all, the Florida pick is probably right though.

I have tickets to the Tenn/UCLA game. Wish us luck.

(It's Turner Gill.)

When I reread my post I realized it was wrong, but I reread it after I posted it.

They beat USC last year and they're returning arguably the best running back in the Pac-10; they've a chance to finish well in the conference.

Tell me if they hit top 8. Where can I follow the league?

espn.com is the first that comes to mind, but I'm sure the Pac-10 Conference as their own site. If you mean the entire NCAA, espn would be the easiest.

I think Oregon State beat USC twice in the past three years, or 3 of the last 4, etc. Something like that, usually in Corvalis, OR. They seem to have the Trojans' number; or they fortuitously play USC after a big game, or before a big game, each time.

Go Buckeyes 9/12/09!

Well... there are hundreds of teams (colleges/universities). The top 25 is the official ranking.

I meant the top 8 within the top 25.
