Ahh! It's coming up! What are your predictions? I'm sticking by my beloved Yankees. My Mets? Eh... not so much. Either way, it's a little early, but I'm starting this thread for any predictions/comments as the regular season winds down to a close. I'm also finally getting cable in my new apartment to celebrate this most awesome upcoming month of October :)

Red Sox. They're the best post-season team in the league; until someone proves otherwise, I'm sticking with them.

I guarantee Bud Selig is praying for the same.

As if the two largest markets wouldn't be compelling enough, the whole Joe Torre thing would be interesting---and incredibly over-hyped. I'd watch the games eagerly, but I don't think I'd turn on ESPN till November. I can only imagine the overkill.

ESPN overkills EVERYTHING. The same with any news-ish network, I s'pose.

Right now they're Belichick and the Pats going against McDaniels and the Broncos (the student verses the teacher). They're all predicting Pats, but I'm guessing the Broncos might pull through.

How can they possibly "suck", since they win almost every year?

If I were to ally myself with a baseball team, it would be the Yankees, since they have a very good record. But I do not support this artificial nationalism.

All of human history is based on one group that grows until it is too large, then splinters off to fight each other.

Being a baseball fan in general? Or just being a bandwagon Yankees fan?

The Twins got royally JOBBED by that LF umpire last night.

That man should immediately be removed from all post-season umpire crews for the next five years, after calling Joe Mauer's (by-at-least-a-foot) ground-rule double a foul ball.

Despite not liking the Yankees, I say this objectively. Had he done the same in favor of the Twins, I'd be happier about it; nevertheless, he'd still deserve the punishment.

Like I said to Brandon in a different thread, the umps in that game were horrible overall. The guy at the plate was a JOKE, expanding the strike zone about a foot in each direction in favor of the twins (though he sucked all-around). Sure, it was a bad call by the LF ump, but in the end, the Yanks have won all 3 games vs. the Twins in this series, AND, they beat the Twins in every single game that they've played against them all year. So.

Rudy G. always goes to home NYY postseason games. It's like seeing Jack Nicholson at Lakers games (at least for postseason).

Yep. He always goes. So what? Also this post-season I've noticed Kate Hudson in the stands (rumored to be hooking up with A-Rod), Jay-Z and Spike Lee. It's not unusual to see a bunch of celebs at games this time of year; especially the Yankees.

No worries. They're come-back kings. Besides, it's their first loss of the post-season, and they're ahead in the series. Relax :)
