face it they are and its kind of a waste of money
Epsilon: There are so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero... never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith.

For some, but this is how the world has made it.
Into an international phenomenon and a very lucrative business indeed.

Their salaries are negotiated and the number of jobs available are very limited. Someone thought that is what they were worth, and they were paid accordingly.

Economically-speaking they are getting paid exactly-right, simply because of how popular these sports are. Lebron James and Aaron Rodgers would go play for some other country if we didn't pay them as much. Here in Green Bay, getting a ticket to see Aaron Rodgers play is about as easy as getting a ticket to see Joe Montana play. The demand is through the roof and there is only one Packers team... that's pretty much the gist of it right there I would assume. When you have a country of three hundred million obsessing over a league of 32 teams with 50 guys a piece (and only about 50 stars among them) you are going to bet these guys are going to get quite a bit of money.
Beliefs in a nutshell:
- The Ends never justify the Means.
- Objectivity is secondary to subjectivity.
- The War on Drugs is the worst policy in the U.S.
- Most people worship technology as a religion.
- Computers will never become sentient.
