Jameis Winston is a true freshman and starting QB for the #11 Florida Seminoles. There is a lot of hype for this kid and I really hope he handles it better than Manziel.

http://espn.go.com...

At this moment, in his first college game, he is 14/15 for 179 yards and 2 TDs. Including a successful 3rd and 17 conversion. Anyone from the Florida area more familiar with him?

And now throw in a rushing TD (though he hardly seems to be the kind of running QB like RG3 or Vick with 5 rushes for 15 yards, seems more like Luck that knows how to scramble when needed).

Is it likely that he is going to become a media darling to take attention away from Manziel and his bad boy persona?

At the end of the 1st half, he is 17 for 18, 240 yards for 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing TD. Well, not a bad start for your first game, eh?

Yeah, he's a great athlete and can go pro in either baseball or football - whichever one he ultimately decides he likes more.

It should be pretty exciting to watch him play these next few years.

Those are very impressive numbers. I don't think he'll do that good every gane, but what a terrific performance.

2 minutes left in the 3rd and he gets his second incomplete pass. However, he is also only trying to go deep with 15 yard plus passes (brought his average from 13 yards per attempt to 15.4 yards per attempt with his previous 5 passes). I don't think he really cares about having the stats but is trying to see just what he can do.

Winston had a terrific game against Clemson. He has a really good chance at the Heisman Trophy.

Right now I think it is up for him and Mariota to lose. Manziel is too far back right now to have a real chance. Mariota's games against UCLA and Stanford are going to be key deciding factors for who comes out on top.

Well, it's official. Winston wins the Heisman.

McCarron deserved it, I think. But congrats to Jameis.

McCarron is a good player. Had he won over Auburn I think he would've won the award.

Wasn't his fault, but yeah, he probably would've

His stats were pretty good. 26 touchdowns and 5 interceptions is not bad. It's not as good as last year, but it's a shame a player as good as him never got to win it.
