Cubs just advanced to the World Series after beating the LA Dodgers. They haven't won the World Series since 1908 and haven't advanced to the World Series since 1945.

Let me tell you all something - I am in Chicago, and I can already tell that the reaction by people will be chaotic.

Everyone forgets though, that there's a 2nd team in the World Series with a long drought. Cleveland hasn't won since 1948.

It's insane. Two years ago (and even this year for Cleveland) no one would have ever guessed these two teams would be in the WS.

Are you a White Sox fan, a Cubs fan, or neither?

Everyone in Chicago is a Cubs fan right now. The bandwagon is warm and inviting, especially if you are willing to pay outrageous bar cover.

Neither. I don't follow baseball, but it's in the news and it's my home-city so I thought I would post about it.

I'm not a big baseball fan, but world series game 7 bottom of the 9th, game tied... this is about as exciting as sports gets

I don't have any rooting interest in any of these teams, but I'd like to see the Cubs lose...

...Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs....

I don't usually watch baseball, but this was one of the most exciting and cinematic sports games I've ever watched. It had all the elements of a contrived piece of fiction. The seemingly insurmountable lead followed by the unlikely comeback, the constant changing of momentum, the tied score leading to extra innings, and the end to the Cubs' 108 year metaphorical drought immediately following a RAIN DELAY, and all of this only because the Cubs managed to win two straight games when everyone expected them to fail and the curse to continue. I'm from Chicago, so it was extra special for me :)
