I want to make a debate about whether Apple Laptops are better than regular laptops. The contender would be able to choose a laptop brand (Lenovo, Dell, HP, Toshiba, whatever) and argue that it is better than apple. I am still unsure of how to define better. If anyone is interested, we can discuss the terms before I send the challenge. I would hate to put it as an open challenge to be trolled.

Is there really anything to debate, every objective factor (power, price, performance, specs etc.) goes to pc.
for mac all you're left with is the OS and the pretty shell.

hmmm....lewis20 is partly right, but, partly wrong. Although, maybe you should limit it to a single laptop (Macbook Pro versus Clevo P270WM, for example)

I agree with Nuke.
You know how people, when they don't know the meaning of a word, automatically think it's appropriate?

It depends what your doing with the computer. I mean musicians prefer MACs over PCs because MAC has better software for music recording, composing, etc. A computer hacker would, most likely (if he/she is any good), would prefer PC. A gamer would prefer PC, a software developer could go for either. Debating the merits of a certain computer is fun, but, you have to limit it to the general population or your just going to get what I said above.

Can I debate a custom built or just PC's in general?

Speaking from experience, Apple's are better than any name brand PC in the fact that they perform all consumer level tasks more efficiently, with less problems. There are way less errors and freeze-ups on a mac than on a PC. This is just like basic consumer viewpoint. From a more computer savvy person that is interested in programming, you need a PC because macs do not really provide a platform for that.
But we try to pretend, you see, that the external world exists altogether independently of us.

I'll say again, from any objective standpoint, that is, hardware components for the price, pc wins.
Subjective, that is the case, software, Os etc its up for debate.
