Okay I am going to be a first year college student in the fall. I'll be majoring in business in management. I want a laptop that is strong enough to run any software that is thrown in it's direction and still retaining a modern, slim, almost mac like appearance. I want to stick with pc and these are my specs.
Processor: intel i5 series or i7
Hard drive: 1 tb
Ram: 8gb and ^
capable of 1080p
operating system: Windows 8
has to have hdmi
at least one usb 3.0 port
preferably (not necessarily)a VGA port

BUDGET OF: 800 U.S dollars

I know I'm asking for a lot considering my budget but I would appreciate your opinion as much as possible.

Why would you need such high specs for a laptop just for college?
"Every kid starts out as a natural-born scientist, and then we beat it out of them. A few trickle through the system with their wonder and enthusiasm for science intact." - Carl Sagan

This is the response of the defenders of Sparta to the Commander of the Roman Army: "If you are a god, you will not hurt those who have never injured you. If you are a man, advance - you will find men equal to yourself. And women.

I need to be able to download various software as well as store various info. This is most likely going to be my laptop for both undergrad and grad school. I'm going to be attend Mays school of business so I know that I am going to need a high performing PC.

But if you think you can find me something that would suffice in terms of performance then I will happily accept your suggestions.

Sorry, the links don't go to the exact page, but you can probably google each one. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll find & post a link to the exact pages.

Wait until August for the laptop sales.

This.

I would probably even wait until mid September. Businesses will jack up laptop prices before the start of school, because they know sales increase due to students buying them for college. Then, they have a sale shortly afterwards to deal with any overstocking they've done.
