1. You liar.

2. It's a forum

3. It's a very new or underused forum

4. The majority of posts exist under: General Chat / Off Topic

5. Only 12% (generous) of the threads relate to actual tech skills

6. Yup, makes you a liar!

I'm a 13 year old and is quite interested in various forms of programming, such as C++, Java, basic HTML and others. Starting out is quite hard but after a few years (I started at around 9) it gets easier as most programming languages are similar.

Actually, we learned from our textbooks. Some of the course required us to copy code, but other parts made us come up with algorithms in order to analyze code and come up with our own.

Well C++ and Java are similar, yes. Try Lisp. It'll be easier to learn than when you first started programming, of course, but it's a LOT different from C++ and Java.

I just use Java, really, although some of the packaged classes are epic failure. I mean, for g.drawRect(x,y,width, height), if your width or height is negative, then instead of mirroring the rectangle accordingly, the program will just skip drawing the rectangle entirely. What failure!

Lol. C++ isn't programming. REAL programmers use machine code. http://www.pbm.com...

Alternatively: REAL programmers use butterflies. http://xkcd.com...

But in all seriousness, HTML isn't programming. Which is why it doesn't matter that I'm really bad at it.

Is Lisp based on any other type of core basic programming?

Actually, to a certain extent, HTML is in fact programming.

I agree. I started learning basic HTML but then again most of HTML is "basic".

No. HTML is a script. It's scripting. Not programming.

In HTML, you cannot setup variables. You cannot setup functions. You cannot setup anything remotely related to programming. All you can do is create a static page that looks nice.

Get your facts straight, n00b.

Couple of things

HTML is not programming it is a markup language based on the XML markup language

Secondly if you want to learn PHP, MYSQL, HTML DOM, Javascript (no relation to Java whatsoever) or CSS go here

K, best website ever to learn programming is http://www.siteduzero.com.... HAX IT'S IN FRENCH! Some translaters translate a full webpage. You can learn C, C++, PHP, Python here. Those are the languages i learned on that website (excluding PHP, got bored of it).

BTW: you can learn C on this website even if you have no idea how a pc works, everything i thaught here.

If) click link labelled "number less than 2" .html then (go to page 1)

If) click link labelled "number greater than 1" .html then (go to page 2).

Note. The above is not "programming language" . It's bull**** for the sake of a point. I don't know programming language.

Note also. The above is a function you can create with an HTML page.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.
