Just updated. A bit faster than Win8. Having a bit of problems with my Nvidia video driver, but other than that it's not bad.

I didn't upgrade because my laptop is five years old and runs just fine on Win7. One thing that would give me pause to upgrade is the idea of forced updates. Windows driver updates haven't always proven reliable, if I remember correctly.

Just updated yesterday. I was very excited. There's not much more difference though. I do like the Microsoft Edge substitution of Internet explorer. It's like a mixture of Internet explorer and Google Chrome.

Probably, because Windows past Windows 7 isn't that good with a lot of gaming systems like Chaos (Like Myspace, but for gamers).

MaximumPC, the magazine for build-your-own-computer-and-overclock-it types, reviewed Win10 this month. They gave it high marks. One thing they noted was the improved DirectX support that eliminates a layer of software and provide about 15-20% better game performance. MaximumPC was very critical of Win8 and are without doubt ultranerds, so I value their opinion.

I updates one computer. The drivers and programs all worked, with the exception of Norton. Norton got confused about the licensing, and I'm going to have to completely uninstall and reinstall it.

The other thing that bothers me is that Win10 is a sales vehicle for Microsoft. Bing is the default search engine, and I haven't yet figured how to change it. Mediaplayer is an extra cost app. Solitaire is an extra cost app. Win10 is free, for a while at least, but Microsoft has not abandoned the profit motive. The model for milking sales is common these days, as for example, with the amazon Kindle, all the game consoles, and Apple systems.

I like it. I noticed speed improvements in boot times, and shut-down times. My copy and paste's are alot faster. And the overall system is less buggy. The UI scaling was been improved significantly.

Why? Did you upgrade from 8 or 7?

Oh yeah, but that only takes a little while of moving stuff around and deleting all the nonsense before it's good.

Win 10 is more like 7 than 8, so I can see a problem if one got used to 8. I've used 10 for a week or so and like it. It's generally faster, has multiple desktops, syncs setup among computers, and seems to have fewer problems with device drivers. Gadgets are gone, but there is a third party fix for that.

How about functionality? Is it smooth and easy to use?

Except for having moved a few things around, it functions very much like Win 7. Right clicking the start menu produces the Win 7 start menu. Win 8 adopted tablets as the main user interface, which was nasty for a desktop. Win 10 has a separate tablet mode for those who want it, but it functions like Win 7 in desktop mode. There are many more customization options than Win 7, but you have to want to make changes. A login and password are required, which is a bit of a pain.

It does come up with Microsoft getting fed a bunch of user data, but that can be shut off.
