flavor is unnecessary
therefor all food should be bland and nondescript
Math is just another language, however one without analogy.

Maybe for you these things seem like entertainment and are therefore unnecessary but that may not be the case for others.Video games create worlds where we can experiment with aspects of our lives that we don't consider but are there nonetheless. Not to mention video game designers are creating games that allow people to expand their knowledge on history, science, math, and other important aspects in life.I will admit there will always be games that exist for sheer enjoyment. But this is a good thing it gives people to relax and to release their emotions in a way that has no real consequences. Also please go to this site https://www.theguardian.com... . See how these people that you view as wasting their time are helping in a way that is enjoyable for them and beneficial to society? please get rid of this stigma that because it has no clear use except for enjoyment that it is useless.

I thank all of you for establishing the nature of the argument without much effort from me.

Essentially the argument that video games are unnecessary evolves into a philosophical argument on projected reality having no practical purpose.

This effectively becomes an argument against the frontal cortex, which is established, effectively, to create artificial realities in our own minds in order to 'game out' the outcome of hypothesis and project reality into the probable future.

Gaming is a technological and cultural extension into sociological evolutionary vectors of the biological utility of abstract thought. You can debate it's applicability to specific utilities, but arguing that it serves no function is essentially a logical argument against evolutionary adaptation of sapience.
Math is just another language, however one without analogy.

Some video games are useful. For example, there are the educational and puzzle games. Those games help your mind develop useful skills in the long run. Not to mention you could learn a thing or two. There are the simulations(talking about the ones that actually simulate, not goat simulator). The ARMY AND MARINES use "video game simulations" to enhance the player(soldier or commander) and their abilities. Then there are the fps'. The games of gore and guns. They enhance reflexes and strategy, and could give you that split second of reflex to prevent a car crash or dodge a ball in a game. Some games are useful, and some are fun, and some are just plain stupid. But I'm willing to bet that games are the reason some are still alive. I've met many a man who plays video games to relieve stress and have fun with friends he cant normally meet. They are ways of connecting to people, sources of fun, improving your brain. The list goes on. Saying all video games are useless is like saying baseball or football isn't necessary, or poker isn't fun and should not be a past time. That's why games are important. Originality, jobs for people who might not get them to create games, sources of fun, train your brain, and many many others. Good luck and have fun! May you find happiness and love :D.

There is no need of them.

It is the flavor of a geek's life.

Any two points in favour of v games you want refuted? Underline them please.
