Omg.. Has nobody said Beatles. Beatles are the best of all time. Hand down!!.
Mcartny hold the guiness book word record as best composer of all time. Lennon in the rock and roll hall of fame.

They created many albums, all of them spectaculare by any means. The Most anybody could say is the first albums are pop-like, but they were young. Nothing has ever or will come close to Beatle Mania. Each album become more creative more mature and more complex. There was no sight of ever slowing down, in hier last album before the splite. They always took risked an where always succesfull. The White album was made specifically to demonstrate pure raw talent without hype. It is white in the sense that its blank.

In so far as Best of all time, they are out of reach of even the second best of all time.

Props must be given to the beatles yes. Personally though I have never really developed a taste for em. I like a few of their songs dont get me wrong, and they were all extremely talented musicians, just camt
personally say they're "the best." Tis an opinion doesnt make
It right or wrong, plenty of people love the beatles.

I loved Wings. Paul Mccartney really made a great hook in the song "Bamd on the Run."

Objectively speaking, The Beatles were the greatest.

Objectively Speaking I think The Who might have a problem with that... :P

It's unfair to say rock band in general without specifying what type of rock, there are so many talented artists out there! But in response to all the people who keep screaming out for the Beatles. I have one thing to say.

Simon and Garfunkel For the win. =P

No it isn't. It depends on how you look at it. Pink Floyd is my favorite band. The Beatles are somewhere around #10 for me. In terms of enjoyment Pink Floyd is the greatest (subjectively speaking). So how do we determine it objectively? Naturally we take away the subjectivity of it. Taste are subjective, therefore we leave out taste and argue in terms of creativity, originality and influence. In terms of originality, creativity, and influence The Beatles wip just about any bands @ss.

In terms of originality, the first band ever was the most creative....you cannot take away the subjectivity simply because your view on what constitutes originality is...subjective...

My view of originality can be subjective depending. But it is basically an objective fact that the Beatles were very original. Of course past music influenced The Beatles, but there was nobody playing that type of music when The Beatles first started playing, therefore they were a very original band.

Btw, the first "band" ever, were cavemen banging on objects with other objects or body parts.

That's just semantics, and those caveman aren't what you would call a rock band, as is what this argument is about. But literally speaking or not, of the rock bands that come closest to originality The Beatles are at the top. And there's still creativity and influence as I've said before.

Although not my favorite band the answer is obvious. The Beatles by far the greatest songwriters and recording artists of all time. Now Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, The Who, Black Sabbath and others are all great rock bands but nothing compaired to the fab four. We will never, and I hate absolutes, see another band like that again at least in our lifetime and I would almost go as far as to say in humankind history.

I'm a musician as well as a artist of many mediums. None of the bands mentioned above are my favorite band but if you factor in everything about what makes a rock n roll band it's easy to see. The song writing is genius and I can't say their is a Beatles song I don't like. The duo of Lennon/McCartney is unmatched for production. The other two would have been the focus points if they were in another band but overshadowed by Paul and John. George Harrison is the best guitarist of the early to mid 60's and Ringo Star a amazing percussionist. Look also at the output of that band. Today's artists maybe release a album every 3-4 years. The Beatles released 27 studio albums in 7 years. TWENTY SEVEN. All with hits galore on them. Never mind the 52 singles and 6 compilation and the list goes on and on.
As well they had to stop touring because the screams got so loud that they would just play the melody and sing nonsense because they knew no one was listening anyway. That alone is a factor only applicable to the Beatles. For any band under the Rock n Roll moniker what the Beatles did is untouchable by then and today's standards. Any other band being named is just kidding yourself. If you know music then you know it will never get as good as them ever again.

I personally have a soft spot for AC/DC. I like the characteristics of Anugs Young's style: relatively simple major-chords with a greater focus on rhythm and accuracy of the riffs that most of the songs are built around, like classics such as TNT, You Shook Me All Night Long, Highway To Hell, For Those About to Rock, Thunderstruck et al.
