Grade School and the Arts

I'm interested on doing a debate with the resolution: Art and/or music is not important in grade school. I'd like to be Pro on this issue; however, I'm going away for a long weekend on Thursday so this debate would probably have a 12 - 24 hour time limit to submit an argument. Would anyone be interested in taking the Con position within these parameters?

Grade school is age 4-10? I'm not sure if it's the same as primary school in England.

Unless you have an unusual or extremely specfic definition of "important", I would probably accept a challenge on this.

I would argue this on the basis that early exposure to the arts helps the process, but I have too much on my plate in terms of schoolwork. It seems like an interesting topic though, and I'd like to see it debated :P
