Open your eyes O' Citizen, why don't you see? Subjugation looms not far. Over two hundred years, you have been free. Now, ruled by political czar. Right before the breach of light Right before the eye can see I see not one, not two, but an entire population I see a whole entire nation Walking in the shadows Walking in the dark I see the red and the blue The white and the black I see a country walking in the shadows When I squint my eyes at the last ray of lies i see an entire nation waking in the dark I can barely make them out because of the shadows We walk as a nation, but we walk alone We walk as a population, but we've learned to walk on our own We have the same beliefs and same vaules But it's so hard to agree on anything anymore On any decision everybody has a answer for We learned to talk to much and listen to little We've strayed from what we stand for and we refuse to learn Technology has made us brittle and independent Our minds have become too strong from our faith The core values of our self, our culture and our history Off in the horizon, just beyond the eye can see I see not one, not two but an entire population I see an entire nation Walking in the dark Walking in the shadows -vannyomus |
