everyone, check this out.
http://www.debate.org...
This is my first political debate, and my opponent 16kadams said that he would allow "some" fooling around, so read the last contention of my second round argument. Then, in the comments for this debate, he said that this would cause me to lose. Can someone explain where I faulted? :/

Fooling around doesn't mean go head on semantics. Especially after you read his second round. But no real harm done. He can just remake it.

I'm not even going to point out the irony in that statement.

Also, debates should retain the highest possible amount of S & G to make the readers be able to read them without wanting to bang their heads against a wall.

That is the only thing I am doing that is fooling around. The rest will be as serious as I can be.

I have no problem with you fooling around.

However, when the likes of 16k and Imabench are running for top positions and the majority of their debates are a sorry sight, then we must be worried.

Not to mention that one of them will likely be in the top position. However, you never know. A sky-pirate might appear out of somewhere and take the election by boat :). Hopefully.
