The years following the War of 1812 are commonly known by historians as the Era of Good Feelings, even though there was great sectional tension during this time. Is the title "Era of Good Feelings" accurate? Analyze the political, economic, religious, philosophical, cultural and social aspects of early 19th Century America to determine why or why not.
Because it's fun and to help form an opinion, I want to debate something related to this topic. But how can I form it into a debate topic? A debate about whether there were good feelings relies on the definition of "good feelings", which is really vague and could be twisted to either side.
