How China Might Take Over

I have a thought experiment I've been wanting some input in. What sort of events could lead to China becoming the economic and military superpower while crippling America and the industrial world?

For instance, China has the ability to control its own currency to an extent unnattainable by western nations.

Can you think of some sort of world-wide financial disaster which would economically cripple everyone but China due to this currency ability (over and undervaluing)?

What other kind of scenarios could lead to MAJOR supremacy of China over America.

Eventually, I'd like to figure out how China might end up occupying America, but first I have to figure this step out.

Well the easy (impossible) way would be for China to replace us as the primary provider in so many global markets, like real estate, sugar, computer hardware, software, weaponry, and media. If you really put your mind to it and think about it, you'd realize that as the world currently is, that is an impossible endeavor.

However, in terms of there being some sort of paradigm shift and American becoming less affluent and influential than China -- well, haven't you learned anything from Imperialism 101? All it would take is a little domestic civil discord.

what would be the purpose of china taking over the US. How would they benefit?

While this might seem like an unnecessary question, it is very necessary since the basis of winning wars is the ability to fight.

1. If the RMB replaces the USD as the reserve currency.
2. East Asia forms its own version of the EU and actually means to cooperate

Once their male population becomes 90% of their population they will crumble. We has this scare when japan was on the rise, until they fell.

Then we take away all money that goes to welfare or social programs, grind it up in blenders and use it as a swimming pool. Riots ensue, and China invades while we're weak.

Yes, read the book patriots. The thermite bombs explode the gas tanks and render it useless. Also the napalm must enter the tank, the thermite melts through.

You can make thermite in crisis. Also, napalm wot melt through tanks.

But, napalm will cook the soldiers inside the tanks and cook off the ammo :P

Yes, read the book patriots. The thermite bombs explode the gas tanks and render it useless. Also the napalm must enter the tank, the thermite melts through.

The extreme heat generated by napalm makes the tank into an oven...the soldier inside the oven dies. Due to the extreme heat, the ammo cooks off destroying the tank rendering it unusable :P
