Why the hell do we have to do the Pledge every day? It pisses me off!
you do not have to stand up for the pledge (if you go to public school). its against the law to make you stand up. and its against the law to question your motives for not standing up. (at least in Florida. pretty sure its a right the Supreme Court extended as speech or something, though.)
I go to private school.
Then don't go there if you don't like it.
If your parents are forcing you, then legally you're f***ed unfortunately unless you're prepared to deal with whatever consequences they have for you sitting down and getting expelled from said private school.
They've forced me to go there for three years, and now I'll have to spend all Senior year they're too. I was in public school up until eighth grade.
What consequences would they have for you if you got expelled?
yep. then you give up all your legal rights at the school gate.To be precise, his parents gave up their claims to the exclusive legal power to violate his rights. He didn't give up anything, because his rights are violated either way.
