50 best sci fi shows

I don't agree with much of this, and Star Trek DS9 isn't even on the list.

Some of these go way back. I can barely remember The Thunder Birds, really hokey. Also I don't think I'd put the Jetsons in there at all.

Stargate SG-1 should be at least top 3 imho.

Battlestar Galactica being #1 is rediculous... Beating out the original star-trek? Shame on this website.

I agree with this. I don't think any show in television history has sparked such a legacy and following. Although BSG was great, and should be in the top 5, Star Trek the original series should be number one.

Doctor Who should have been in the top 3 at least.

I concur; it seems to me like they just put a bunch of old sci-fi shows on the list to make it seem legitimate. It seems incredibly arbitrary.

Some of the shows on the list aren't even sci-fi, ike Xena, and others were pretty bad, like the original "V" tv show.

Legacy and following don't make a show good. The show was revolutionary but the franchise has mostly improved. Enterprise is better, and I've heard good things about DS9.

Ive watched Enterprise, it was so so, but DS9 is by far the BEST of the series. Screw TOS, DS9 has some of the best episodes ever.

Why the hell are some of these shows even on here. I dont think the person who made this list understood what "Science fiction" means.

But, atleast stargate atlantis made the cut. And Firefly. But yes, BSG should not be #1.

I enjoyed both. To me they were better than the later series. However, I must agree that TNG slightly edges ahead of DS9, at least in my opinion.

You're a mad man and a danger to yourself and others. DS9 and Enterprise are universally acknowledged as the red-headed step children of the franchise. The less said of them, the better.

You have made an error, drafterman....I corrected it for you.

TOS is the best of Star Trek, you guys just can't get past those early special effects. Also, Voyager slightly out paces DS9 mostly because Janeway is better than Sisko.

To a prior question, I'd like to play a Star Trek Mafia, but I always miss the sign ups.

By the way, they put The Jetsons in there, but no DS9? Also, yes Farscape was good, better than a lot of the others.

Enterprise, yes. DS9 is the pinnacle of Trek. It took the bland, always lawful good goodie-two-shoes nature of 24th century humanity and made it more real.

I'll always hold a grudge against Stargate SG1 for bumping Farscape out of it's prime TV slot, leading to it's ultimate design.

That's not true, I love plenty of stuff with worse special effects than TOS, mainly older Kamen Riders, Doctor Who, and Godzilla. I think the real issue is that you're letting nostalgia cloud your judgment.

Possibly, but there was definitely a certain flavor to TOS with Kirk and the other characters that just was set apart from the other series.

Star Trek... TOS or nothing... Battlestar gallactica, Stargate, Farscape, Babylon 5 never hooked me. Tos will always be remembered when you bring up Star Trek. Anything that follows is whatever.-3-
