We'll definitely have to do a debate in a month or so in that format! I play so many different styles. Whatever is musical and melodic, I play. I'm really into soul, jazz, funk, blues, and rock when it comes to playing. I also learn a few bluegrass and classical songs every once in a while.

Erm, I dabble. I've been playing on and off for about 8 years. There are a few songs I can play really well but for the most part I just forget everything because I practice so infrequently.... like, basically not at all. And usually if I get around to playing, it's jamming with a few people while drunk so that doesn't really count as practice haha

lol, I've played for five year, but the in the past two years I've played a handful of times. I was getting regressively worse until 2 weeks ago, when I started playing again. So, I'm using this debate as an excuse to get back into it!

I love playing rap songs. The one's with good backing tracks are fun to play along with and solo over. The songs "Put On" "American Boy" "Empire State of Mind" "Yes" "Player's Ball" "Roses" "Touch the Sky" "Kick, Push" and "Superstar" are all really great songs in their own rite, and fun to play along with!

Then there's Soul (I include Motown and Disco, don't judge) with people like Aretha Franklin, The O'Jays, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Aloe Blacc, Etta James, Ray Charles, and the Jackson 5.

Classical - Rachmaninov (hard as balls), Variety of Spanish guitar songs, and Wedding Songs

Blues - B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King

I like to play comedy songs from Flight of the Conchords, The Axis of Awesome, and Tripod.

Rock - everything from the stupid, fun rock of AC/DC to Dream Theater

Jazz - we'll be here all day if I start naming Jazz songs and musicians.

There's a lot more.

I pretty much only play stoner metal (pretty blues-ey), punk, and rock. Some classic rock. and shiit I made up. Never touched jazz, classical, motown, soul, rap, or actual blues.

I don't find sweep picking interesting. I'd rather have a musician play one note, and make love to that note, giving it all the soul in his being. People playing scales and arpeggios as fast as they can isn't particularly melodic and musically interesting.
