I need an outlet to disparage merriam-webster online, so this is it.

http://www.merriam-webster.com...

Seriously, Merriam-Websters? You purposely exclude words from your online dictionary, in the hopes that I will PAY you for that? Do you honestly think that, rather than going to a different dictionary website, I would PAY you to get the meaning of a word?! What a supreme waste of my time. What kind of shoddy online dictionary abridges itself?

https://member.m-w.com...

5 bucks a month? God, that's dumb. Your site is choked to death with bloody advertisements! Now you want me to pay 5 bucks a month so I can know the meaning of the word "underly"? I will cut you, merriam-webster, and piss on your grave.

Switching back to dictionary.com

Lol. I agree with you about M-W.

I saw that clip before of Bill too, but I thought it was while he was getting Rick Rolled. I guess they just made that part up.

Wiktionary pwns, because, like Wikipedia, it can be edited by anyone. And what better way to write a dictionary than have a community do it. The community makes the language, after all.

Wiktionary also provides examples from literature, so its visitors can see the words used in context. I need not say how helpful reading a new word in context is.

Also, they appear to have annoying advertisements which play sounds without your permission. I abhor webpages that do that.

Agree.
I use dictionary.reference.com. Never will use anything else.

Jesus Christ.

Today, Google Chrome has completely shut down for me on 4 seperate occasions specifically when I went to the merriam-websters site.

Why so narrow-minded?
