He is personally my favorite President for these reasons:

- paid of national debt completely
- shrank the government
- killed the National Bank
- lived with two dueling bullets in his body (badas$)
- loved the Union
- prevented an early civil war by pacifying South Carolina in the Nullification Crisis

To me he was a true Conservative who believed in small government, didn't take sh!t from anyone and managed to pay down our debt and hold the Union together.

He was the best president we've ever had.

While the rest can be disputed by the masses I would like to point out one thing...

A severe depot evasion occurred after he balanced the budget. This lasted 7 years and increased the federal debt in the long term.

Averted a civil war? Had one occured at that time, it would have been completely his fault. He tried to declare that states were not allowed to secede, something the federal government may never prevent states from doing. (South Carolina then nullified that as well.)
It is odd when one's capacity for compassion is measured not in what he is willing to do by his own time, effort, and property, but what he will force others to do with their own property instead.

That doesn't contradict anything I said.

Hey, as a President I think he led the country well... I'm entitled to my opinion.

As for the Trail of Tears do a little research on the matter first.

He did not commit genocide for one, he moved them (inhumanely yes) but only moved them.

Second, the Georgians were getting ready to go in and move them themselves... which in my opinion would have been worse.

I swear. I didn't kill her. I just raped her and she died in the process. And if I hadn't done it, Bob would have got to her eventually, which could have been a lot worse. So, you see, I'm justified.

Human rights violation: Trail of Tears

--Rankings--
Peace, Prosperity, and Freedom: 27th (From "Recarving Rushmore")
Times: 14th
Siena: 13th
Wall Street Journal: 10th
Schlesinger: 5th

Refuting inane left and right presidential views, and instead evaluating presidents on peace, prosperity, and freedom is a much better way to rank presidents. Typically the traditional rankings are based on who starts the most wars, expands the federal government, and reneges civil liberties; however, based on the better system of evaluation, John Tyler may have been the best president we've ever had.
The Two Dinosaurs

Government: Limited government libertarianism is the theory that free market capitalism is best protected by a socialist monopoly.
Religion: "If you really believe that death leads to eternal bliss, then why are you wearing a seatbelt?" -Doug Stanhope
