2/12/2011 3:14:52 PM Posted: 2 years ago Which New York team is better? I'm currently trying to debate this although my opponent has pretty much forfeited the entire debate ( http://www.debate.org... ). It's a very close call, but I argued in favor of the Giants being the better team. It's so close I could easily argue the other way though. Still I think the Giants have the slight upper hand. Anyone disagree?

2/12/2011 5:34:32 PM Posted: 2 years ago Giants are better. The coaching on the Jets are just a little more cleaver, but the team as a whole is better on the Giants side.

2/12/2011 9:26:23 PM Posted: 2 years ago I feel more on the Jets side because they have a better defense
Both Franchises are almost exactly the same on offense. They both have inaccurate passers and a heavy run game. Jets have better receivers while the Runningback corp of Jacobs and Bradshaw is better than Greene and Tomlinson. |

2/12/2011 10:00:53 PM Posted: 2 years ago Well the Jets were more successful, at the expense of waxing obvious. The Philly game was beyond disastrous; it was a complete meltdown. Philly scored like 8 touchdown on them in three minutes, and all the Giants had to do was kick it out of bounds instead of to the most dangerous guy in the game, and didn't. A mistake like that isn't just the kicker's fault...

2/13/2011 12:55:02 AM Posted: 2 years ago I'd say the Jets; Mark Sanchez definitely proved himself to be a formidable QB this season. I didn't hear much out of the Giants throughout the season. To be honest, all I remember is the crushing loss in the 4th quarter to the Eagles, which I believe was already mentioned.
At this point, though, we have to wait on the draft- that should have a major impact. : At 4/15/2011 5:29:37 PM, CosmicAlfonzo wrote: : Pascal's wager is for poosies. : : I mean that sincerly, because it's basically an argument from poooosie. : : I'm pretty sure that's like a fallacy.. 2/13/2011 11:52:18 AM Posted: 2 years ago That would be a tough debate since the Giants missed the playoffs and the Jets overtook the best NFL regular-season team to make it to the AFC Championship game. I mean, the only objective measure is their success. I don't follow either team enough to debate it though, I'm relatively new to football and the Pack and Eagles are the only teams I follow.

However draft picks or trades can't be taken into account, since we don't know what they are yet. We'd most likely reference 2010-2011 season stats. Of course you could mention the playoffs -- the Giants didn't make it though lol. 2/13/2011 12:18:21 PM Posted: 2 years ago Looking forward to next season, the playoffs would just become a minor point. I think that the trend would seem to indicate that the Steelers will not do very well this season, for instance, being the SB losers.

2/13/2011 1:20:30 PM Posted: 2 years ago I don't see why the draft has anything whatsoever to do with it. It's a very simple question: If the teams were as-is (with the same players and coaches from last season) then what team is superior? The draft is completely useless to the topic -- just an excuse to get out of the debate. It's cool. You don't need an excuse lol you can simply say you're not interested. I just wanted to do a football debate :) I'd even be willing to debate the other way around and say the Jets are better.

Mcfadden was earning a lot of points this season, that's for sure. Raiders put up a bunch of wins this year but I don't remember anything remarkable being said about the QB or WR. They have a decent defense though if I remember correctly no comment |

2/13/2011 10:30:36 PM Posted: 2 years ago Ahmad Bradshaw (17th), Hakeem Nicks (20th), Mario Manningham (68th), and Eli Manning (70th) are looking much better for fantasy next year than the Jets' Shonn Green (69th), Ladainian Tomlinson (90th), Santanio Holmes (59th) and Mark Sanchez (who cares). I guess the Jets got the D though. Giants' D has nightmares about Michael Vick.
