Is it logical to say that Christians have a more negative view on life than atheists?

If it brings someone more comfort to believe that this can't be the only life there is, then that must mean that it would bring them less comfort to believe that this is the only life we get to live. This means that they must be the ones with a negative view on life, because if they weren't, then why would they feel so much more comfort in believing in a completely different life that may not even exist in reality? It seems the answer to that question is because they can't grasp the beauty o...
celibacy
celibacy is right, pre-marital sex wrong. I will argue con/Against this. I will not argue the reverse but simply that celibacy is not the 'right' thing for people to strive for against their inclinations. Also we are talking about a consensual environment, not cases involving abuse....
The US invaded Iraq primarily for their oil

For those of you reading this, you probably clicked the debate because you have heard someone on this very website or even in real life use this excuse for why the US had invaded Iraq, and thought that the person who created this debate believes in this idea. I however am con because time and time again while in debates, whenever the morality or the conduct of the US was called into question I would always find one or two trolls who simply state that "it is a known fact that the US invaded Iraq...
The moral argument for the existence of God is sound

===Resolution and BoP===
Pro argues that the moral argument for the existence of God is sound. Con will argue that it is either not sound or is not valid. The BoP will be on the Pro. Pro must provide a positive argument for the defense of the resolution, while Con must show why Pro's argument is flawed.

Guns raises crime and is un-constitutional
1. Guns raise crime because it is common sense that gun will kill people. I am for guns but want to take the pro side. Guns are bad and raise crime because you can shoot people with them. Also the UN wants to get rid of guns, and their a peace organization. So therefore guns must be bad. 2. Concealed carry raises crime too. That lets people hide their gun, so if it is hidden then you can kill people easier. 3. It is un-constitutional because it is about a well regulated militia. Conclusi...
Abortion is Immoral --- Tournament Debate, round 1

Resolved: Abortion is Immoral. MasterKage is Pro. He believes abortion is immoral, wrong, should not be done. He can make exceptions for rape and incest if he chooses, but the point is that abortion itself is a wrong thing, from the moment of conception. He doesn't have to argue that abortion should be illegal, but he should argue that it is immoral. Pro has the burden of proof. Wiploc is Con. His personal opinion is that abortion is good; lots of people should abort. Requiring abort...
Dropping the Atomic Bombs on Japan was a Necessary Evil

Hello - I will be arguing in favor of dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan in 1945 by the United States of America. I believe that the bombings were necessary for an American victory and the alternative would have been worse in the end. I trust that everyone reading this understands the event in question and that no definitions need to be posted. Round 1: Acceptance/Clarification by Con [if needed] Round 2: Main points Round 3: Conclusions/rebuttals I am in fav...

Round 3 will be for defences and further rebuttals. Round 4 will be for a summary of arguments and conclusion with final point. Round 1: Smoking - The inhalation of the smoke of t...
