"Champagne" as only French: Is it beneficial for the world if France secures its monopoly over Champagne?

  • Yes it should work

If France can get a monopoly in the Champagne region then by all means they should. They have been bought much success from that particular region thus far by supplying the world with their wine that we should be better off with them securing its monopoly and providing more quality for its customers.

  • Competition is good for any industry

Although it is clear that champagne is something that the French excel at creating, it is not sensible to have one demographic in charge of all of its production. Competition always leads to an increase in quality, and if other areas of the world can create a champagne that challenges French champagne, then the world will benefit from it.
