The main purpose of the devices is to provide law enforcement with intelligence, such as determining if a card’s magnetic stripe has been altered to put funds on it, and forensic analysis, such as looking for trends associated with card issuers or where the funds are coming from...“The seizure stuff is really secondary, even tertiary,”
oh, so this is primarily an information-gathering program, swiping cards of everyday citizens to see where they've been used and for what kind of purchases. yeah, there's no way that information is being stored and passed around, they wouldn't do that.
People should boycott Oklahoma businesses to the best of their ability if the state's laws interfere with their beliefs. Money talks so by withholding money to certain businesses, they are more likely to make changes in agreement with the boycotts. There may be an even larger response if celebrities and musicians cancel performance or appearances in the state as well.
I honestly do not understand this question, and I do not see a reason to completely boycott all businesses in Oklahoma. Just because people dislike the state and want to avoid it doesn't mean the businesses there are also unlikable. There could be some very good companies down in Oklahoma.
Maybe I am looking at this to simplistically but it feels to me like if you are not doing anything illegal that would cause Oklahoma's newly installed practice of seizing funds from prepaid cards to affect you, then you would have no need to avoid travel to the state or boycott its businesses.
