A 12-year-old boy locked in a pitch black bathroom for as much as 2 years was found weighing 30 lbs. Should his mother face the death penalty?
  • He was left for dead.

Yes, the mother of the 12-year-old boy that was found weighing 30 pounds should face the death penalty, because she did not care about the life of that child. The mother might as well have left her son for dead. Society should not care about her life because she abused a child in the worst way.

  • Yes, I believe she should get the death penalty.

If she didn't want to take care of him, she could have turned him over to authorities and given him a chance at life. It is disgusting to think she could have left him in that positive but incredible that he survived at all. It is a testament of the human spirit. She should die, and I don't say that lightly.

  • She shouldn't be allowed to torture anyone like that again.

First of all, I hope that poor boy gets the support, treatment and love he needs right now. His mother should definitely face the death penalty. She shouldn't be able to claim insanity or any other mental health issue as an excuse. That little boy needs to know that there is justice in this world.

  • Not what the death penalty is for

The boy is alive, but sheer luck. It's no doubt that he will have long-term, lasting effects mentally, emotionally, and possibly even physically from this treatment. However, his mother doesn't qualify for the death penalty. The boy is still alive. His mother should be punished harshly for what she has done to an innocent child like this.
