A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly calling an Indian-American small business owner a "terrorist" and then breaking into his home and threatening his family with a knife. We always think that a terrorist is a Muslim, just because there are a number of terrorists who are killing "for islam", but because of this they are alienating the vast majority of their religion. They are under a far greater threat than "other people"
Muslims in the United States are under a greater threat than most other Americans. American Muslims are often stereotyped as being suspicious and potentially dangerous. This stereotype has led to increased violence against Muslims in the United States. In short, the fear of terrorist attacks by Islamic groups have caused many Americans to become wary toward Muslims.
An Indian-American person would more likely be Hindu than Muslim, as is this man, but that only supports my point. People of color are definitely under a greater threat in many different ways than white people in America due to the preconceived notion that some uneducated people have. Be it fear of terrorism with people who look Middle Eastern, or fear of more domestic crimes with people who are Black. If you don't believe this to be true, I would be willing to make a bet that you are a white person who does not live in an multicultural area.
Muslims may be targeted often, because of their acts against other people, but they are under no more of a threat then everyone else is. Muslims are targeting and killing an average person just as often as the average person is targeting the Muslims. It seems like there is a new terrorist attack by Muslims in the news every other day, but you don't hear about anyone else attacking the Muslims every day.
