  • No tolerance for rape.

I have no tolerance for those who rape, especially those who are repeat offenders. If it can be proven through DNA evidence and checked and double-checked, I would have no problem giving serial rapists the death penalty. If not, we are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to care for them in prison.

  • No, the death penalty is wrong.

The death penalty is wrong for the same reason murder is wrong. As human beings we do not have the knowledge and wisdom necessary to make the right choice when it comes to whether someone should live or die. For that reason alone we should look for alternative punishments that fit the crime.

  • No, a prison sentence would be a much better punishment.

No, the suspected rapist should not be sentenced to death if convicted. Housing prisoners on death row costs the government significantly more money than it does to house a prisoner normally. Also, a prison sentence gives those convicted of crimes an opportunity to pay for what they have done and feel guilt and remorse.

  • Death penalty not the answer

I do not believe that the Death penalty is ever the answer, regardless of the crime committed. There have been far too many instances where felons have later been found innocent years later - with the death penalty there can be no reprieve if further evidence were to come out in the future.
