Are biofuels a better alternative to fossil fuels?

  • Yes they are.

Bio fuel is a much better way of going about things as opposed to using fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are bad in that they come from the Middle East, and we do not want all of our hard earned dollars going over to that side of the world, I say.

  • They can be

Biofuels make a lot more long term sense than what we rely on now, but between the money companies make on oil and our general dependance on it, biofuels are way further off than they should be. Everybody knows they're the right decision but nobody has been bold enough to make a truly serious push to switch to them, I fear that is not in the near future either.

  • They definitely are.

According to my understanding of biofuels and fossil fuels, biofuels are a much better alternative to fossil fuels because they do not create the environmental hazards that fossil fuels do. We must solve America's fuel problem, but we can't just go hary cary and do it in a way that invades the environment and causes huge health and safety epidemics for ours and future generations.

  • A bright future in biofuels

Biofuels are being developed in laboratories all over the world. In the future, they will most likely be able to create biofuels based on unwanted crops from farms. Plenty of agricultural facilities produce rotted and essentially unusable waste, but scientists are working to find a way to turn this waste into biofuels. This way no farms will be primarily focusing on producing crops for biofuels, but rather all farms that produce vegetation for people to eat will send waste to be produced into biofuels. Therefore, no extra land will be used for growing biofuel centered crops, and there will still be food. This is also a way for under-developed countries and developing countries that focus on agriculture will be able to create biofuel production plants as a secondary source of income, energy, and the such. In conclusion, biofuels have a bright future.

  • Lets Go Biofuels!!

Biofuels are better for the environment because they burn cleaner. Also, they will help conserve the small amount of fossil fuels the Earth has, because their will always be an infinite source of fossil fuels. I mean, why eat 10 cookies (fossil fuels) when you can have as many as you want (biofuels)!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, they are.

We only have enough fossil fuels to last maybe another 130 years. People assume that because of biofuel that it will take up all of the available land. False. Land that is used for biofuels is able to be reused over and over again so that the need for more land is invalid. SOOO... Even if its not biofuels we need another alternative and biofuels are the next step.

  • Bio fuels are good

Bio fuels are better because even if they harm the environment, of course less then fossil fuels, they are renewable, which means that they will never end, which helps the problem of scarcity. Some places are harder to extract petroleum, which causes social problems like land exploration, and even wars over territory

  • Sure they are

Bio fuels are better than fossil fuels because they do not produce any harmful smoke or gases. They are also obtained from nature. Fossil fuels are obtained from the extracts of animals and other organisms fuels produces toxic gases while burning. They may be harmful to us. Some of them contain carbon dioxide.

  • Biofuels are better than fossil fuels.

Bio fuels are better than fossil fuels in many ways. Although, they are probably not as powerful, bio fuels are renewable compared to the limited resource of fossil fuels. They don't hurt the environment as much compared to the emissions of fossil fuels into the environment causing problems such as global warming.

  • Cause it just does

    Cause it just does can they just lunkiefy lol im funny hahahahhahahaha ha hah ah a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a

  • They are not

Biofuels are taking over land that was used for crops, but everyone is complaining about world hunger. If all the farms start producing biofuels then what will we eat? The rainforest is then being cut down to make way for the biofuels, so that more can be grown, but the rainforest is very important and if it's cut down then we are producing more carbon dioxide.

  • No they aren't

Crops used for productioon of Biofuels have started competing with food crops for land which may later create a food crisis. The process of production of biofuels causes as much pollution as fossil fuels do. Therefore scientists need to find better and eco-friendly ways to process biofuels. I'd love to see the world from a new angle i.e. more green

  • Bio fuels are not the way to go!

The use of a bio-fuel is just as harmful because all of the "bio" versions of the fuels we use now will create the SAME amount of harmful Carbon Dioxide gas, while also burning more fuel to create these "eco" alternatives. This is a major problem. So is the fact that we would have to burn MORE of these bio fuels in order to get the same amount of energy as a fossil fuel. I am not saying that we need to continue burning fossil fuels, because yes, they are bad, but falling into bio fuels is not really doing us any favors other than making us think that we are saving the planet. Do your research before falling into a commercial trap. We need a different solution.

  • NO, because we can't make enough to replace fossil fuels.

While I do agree that biofuels would be better for the environment, with less pollution and environmental destruction from acquiring it, it would take a vast amount of money to create facilities needed to make enough to provide to the entire US or world. And the raw resources used to make biofuels, such as corn or sugar canes, would draw away from what we are using them for now, mainly food, screwing with the economy.
