  • If you can earn money playing a game, It's a sport

If you can earn money playing a game of some sort, it is a sport. Many gaming tournaments have large sums of money handed out as prizes, and many people practice and practice to earn these prizes, just like athletes. Therefore, in my opinion, competitive gaming is a sport, although just playing video games does not mean you are playing a sport.

  • It doesn't matter wether video games are competitive. They still don't fit the criteria to be a sport.

Just because you win a sum of money for beating everyone else in Wow does not mean that you play a sport. Nothing about video games are physically exerting. If video games were a sport then so could playing a musical instrument be a sport as well as math or any subject.

Just because you are competitive about something does not mean it is a sport. Nor does winning money make something a sport otherwise jobs of every sort would be considered a sport.

Gaming is for people who are too lazy to actually try a sport.
