More importantly, computers benefit many jobs by storing LOTS of information safely, without taking any space at all, making calculations, sending that information.

  • Yes it is

Computers are the most significant invention of the 20th century. They are because if they werent created then the internet wouldnt have been made and thanks to the internet, ideas are shared more freely to more people around the world. This changed our lives and the lives of the next generations

  • Clearly, they are

The computer revoltionised some of the oldest inventions. From writing to record keeping. It gave us the internet and aloowed us to save space by being able to keep documents in a virtual space. Furthermore, you are typing on a computer and sharing your opinion with millions online. Why are you complaing? Or do you not realise how beautiful that it is that you can do that?

  • Yes, computers are the most significant inventions

Computers allowed many different discoveries to happen such as internet and photoshop and advertisements. All of these things have affected the media and society and humanity all throughout the world. Computers, though not accessible to everyone, have created a different world inside reality. The cyber-world has changed humanity completely by allowing different opportunities to normal people.

  • Computers are the most significant invention of the twentieth century

Computers are definitely the most important invention of the twentieth century because almost everything we own is linked to a form of computer, not necessarily a laptop or desktop, but a form of programming designed as for a guidance system, for manufacturing, for measurement, and for a million other uses. Also computers revolutionized the way everything is designed because advanced programs allow extreme precision and almost everything today is designed on computers

  • We're in the 21st century

Well when computers first came out they weren't very useful in my opinion. I mean, they also invented the car, the radio (Nikola Tesla), and the cell phone. Don't you think any of these were better inventions in the 20th century?

  • It is significant, but not the most significant

In the 20th century, hospitals and medicines improved a lot, so i wouldntt say that the computer was the most significant invention. Without computers so many things wouldn't be as easy as they are now, which is why it is significant, but cures for diseases and hospitals that save peoples lives are more significant in my opinion.

  • Computers aren't the most significant invention of the 20th century

In the 20th century, computers were invented. They changed life as we knew it, yet they weren't the most significant invention of that time. I think that the robot is the most significant invention of the 20th century. It is the first invention of artificial life, which is both revolutionary and extremely significant.

  • Significant: yes, most significant: no

Sure, computers have completely altered the lives of everyone, but they aren't the most significant invention from the 20th century. The assembly line was thought up in the early twentieth century, and completely changed how EVERYTHING was/is made (even computers). The automobile completely changed how cities all over the world develop. And it was only in the twentieth century that the nuclear bomb was made, for the first time in history can we speak of mutually assured destruction.

  • Yes, it is.

I feel the computer is the most significant invention of the 20th century as it educates anyone that has access to one, with internet, about any topic that is on their mind. Almost any question can be answered. It provides knowledge and entertainment to all people of all ages. It benefits humans a lot.

  • The Transistor Was.

Without the transistor, computers as powerful as your smartphone would have to be the size of a room since it employs vacuum tubes. The vacuum tube could be the size of a D cell and was replaced by transistors now the size of a microscopic organism. Without the invention of the transistor, none of these computer-related experiences you've had or will have will ever be possible. Period.
