  • More guns more deaths!

The US has 5% of the world’s population, it had 31% all public mass shootings in the world. More Americans have died from guns in the united states since 1968 than on battlefields of all the worse, the number of deaths from warfare 1775-2015 is 1,396,733; the number of firearm-related deaths 1969-2015 is 1,516,863. The second number is larger than the first one. It seems that we are living in an American modern 3rd war. The worse is that we don’t know where the battlefield is. It could happen any time any place, only a gun at a crazy people’s hand.

  • Fuck u stupid niggaz!!

Gun's are the main reason that people die everyday in america. Did you know that since 1982 there has been only 7 shooting episodes in Canada. That's amazing! In america there were seven only after last week. That's unacceptable! The mindset that owning a gun makes you safer has to change. Support Clinton!

  • Gun problems in America

Guns aren't necessarily the problem with America, but they a problem America does have and it needs to change. There are reasons many people will argue that guns are a problem in America and many who will disagree, but guns are a huge problem and most deaths in America are due to guns. America's history of federal and state laws regulating private ownership of firearms goes all the way back to 1764, when three men entered a schoolhouse near Pennsylvania, shot and killed schoolmaster Enoch Brown, and nine children. Many school shootings have occurred since then and many have died due to legalised guns. Between 1982 and 2012, the US had roughly sixty-two mass shootings, of those sixty-two shootings, forty-nine were using legal weapons. These aren't the only problems with guns in america but they are huge problems and people need to be more aware with what damage a gun can posses. So in conclusion guns in America are a problem and it needs to be addressed.

  • The NRA is the huge problem . Blaming mental illness solely is wrong

I had a whole essay written and then the tab crashed.
    1. Most people with a mental illness diagnosis are NOT violent
    2. Politicians are owned by the NRA to block gun control legislation .
    3. Blaming solely mental illness is a scapegoat. People who have a mental illness are more likely to be victims of crime. Republicans want to blame solely mental illness. They have tunnel vision. Even if severe mental illness was miraculously cured gun violence would only be reduced by about 5 % this means that most gun violence is committed by people who either do not have a mental illness or do not have a diagnosis .
    4. If a citizen is really a law abiding citizen, a background check is no more than an inconvenience
    5. Most people want common sense gun control but the NRA blocks legislation because they own 42 Senators.
    6. The "good guy with a gun theory" is not accurate. Reagan was shot with 12 armed men around him. Not one secret service shot their guns. Studies show that only 3% of mass shootings were affected by a good guy with a gun. We do not live in aN Old West movie where the good guys wear white hats and the bad guys wear black hats. Therefore, how is a person going to know if a guy with a gun is good or bad ?
    7. People claim criminals don't buy guns legally. Some crimin also do get their guns illegally, but more than 80% of guns used in mass shootings were obtained legally.
8 The NRA whines about enforcing current laws before passing more laws. Obama had that in his executive action on guns and the NRA complained.
    9. The NRA said to fix the mental health care system. The NRA complained.
    10. The NRA claims Obama doesn't understand the 2A, but he was a CONSTITUTIONAL LAW Professor at HARVARD LAW SCHOOL!
    11. The NRA also LOVES to twist Obama's words. Obama said in his exectutive order that any gun shop owner who does not follow the laws regarding gun sales (like the person who sold the gun to the future mass shooter before the background check results were received ), will be prosecuted. Lapierre claimed on the NRA website that Obama said anyone who sold guns will be prosecuted.
    12. Until the gun laws are addressed, and universal background checks and waiting periods are required, gun violence will continue. Most people want common sense gun control, both gun owners and non-gun owners, both political parties, and even NRA members see that there are loopholes in the system and that we are not doing everything we can to prevent gun violence. Until the NRA is put in its place, things are never going to change. I think the NRA is a home-grown terrorist group . The profit from mass shootings because after a mass shooting gun sales go up.
THE NRA NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!

  • Guns make it easy to cause damage

Yes, a gun is an inanimate object that does not load and fire itself, but guns are a tool that, in the hands of a criminal, make it a fairly simple matter to wreak havoc and commit crimes. We need to stop making them so easily available to just about anybody. The lives of innocent people are on the line.

  • You are all idiots

Look at fucking Australia, there is never gun related crime in Australia. There is always massacres happening every year, criminals have an easier time committing crime, policemen are always paranoid which make police shootings more common, everyone is on edge about guns, crime is more prominent. Really just look at Australia's crime compared to America and you will see, you don't need a fucking automatic weapon for self defence at the very least a small handgun.

  • Guns themselves are only one part of the problem.

The paranoid national NRA leadership and their bribes is another part. Corrupt state legislators are the third part. I believe this is best handled by the 50 states in cooperation. Therefore:

"The right to bear arms" (Own and use our gun/s) is a privilege only state citizens who are REGISTERED to vote should have. Therefore All States must agree that ANYONE attempting to deal drugs, gang bang, rob or terrorize innocent Americans using a gun not their own property (state registry), attempting to sell guns not their own, or carry guns across state lines, unless he or she is a state licensed gun dealer, shall have one hand cut off or eye plucked out for each offense or each victim wounded by their illegal gun fire--improper gun use would rapidly decline. Further, predators would be returned to their community to fend for themselves. NO taxpayer money would be spent to give people who failed to respect innocent life a free ride. After a while the consequences of illegal gun use in the attempt to injure another or selling guns illegally would highly discourage and also disable most inappropriate gun use. All sanctuary cities would be outlawed. Illegals convicted of above violations would be deported to their home country after the penalty phase.

As a Christian I do not believe in the death penalty; I do believe as a man in Christ, I must protect women, children and the elderly from predators. .

  • Guns are one of America's biggest problems.

Guns are one of America's biggest problems because they contribute to crime, they cost Americans millions of dollars as a result of those crimes (medical injuries, police investigations and resources, and all of this also detracts from America making progress in very important ways that would benefit all of society, such as infrastructure, employment and education. Guns are ruining the future of America's generations.

  • Access to guns is the problem, so yes.

Guns are a huge problem in America. Every day they are depriving people of their lives, depriving young people of going on and living their lives and contributing to our society. Access to guns is depriving children of living to graduate high school or becoming adults, and depriving adults not only of their lives, but of living the kinds of lives they lived before becoming maimed or injured or emotionally scarred. This is a huge problem for America.

  • I'm Going to Have to Say No

Guns are not the problem in America. Especially legal guns. When the term "assault rifle" comes to mind, I think of what the United States government considers "machine guns". All those weapons are already illegal. Handguns and rifles are useful for self defense incase of home invasion, especially when the invaders have access to illegal weapons. If Americans are properly screened, there cannot be a problem.

  • Outlaws don't obey laws

And surprise surpise, most guns used in crimes are acquired illegally--i.E stolen or straw purchases. People who commit crimes generally don't pass background checks, and those who don't, pass. Assuming that the law abiding citizen isn't the threat, there is no logic to passing more laws, when current laws, when enforced, do just fine.

  • Killers Will Kill, They Will Find a Weapon

We have more gun restrictions now then at any time in our history. Yet today violence continues to grow. It is not inanimate objects like firearms that are the issue in society today. We have become a less civilized society, with weaker moral foundations, positive family influence, etc. Regulation of guns hasn't worked so far, it's pipedream to believe this will fix anything.

  • Guns aren't the problem. Criminals with guns is.

According to the guns prevent 1,000,000 crimes including 400,000 murderers a year. They kill about 30,000 people a year. Guns are tools. They are inaminent objects. In order to stop murderer you must get rid of the reasons why people murderer other people and not the tool they use. A gun in the hands of a law abiding and mentally stable citizen is fine. A gun in the hands of a criminal is not.

  • Only idiots believe guns are 100% the problem

Yes they might help people carry out mass killings, but so do other things like knives, bombs, cars, planes, blunt objects, poison, gas, etc. Should we go after all of those things too? What "anti-gun" people fail to realize is that its not a gun problem, its a mental health problem. You think normal, sane people just wake up one day and decide to shoot up a school or office building?

  • Guns are not a problem, just a tool

While it makes it easier to kill someone with a gun that is not our problem here. A person who wanted someone dead could find other means and way of getting a new gun or just killing them. Not to mention the fact that a serial killers least preferred weapon is the gun anyways! Murderers like to feel life flood out of their victims body, so their weapon of choice is a knife. Guns are simply put as "a mechanical tool". Serial killers also like to be creative in making their victims die, like a killer who is staring out may use a plastic bag to watch their eyes fade away.

  • Guns are never the problem

When there is somebody that wants to kill others yes guns do help but there are so many ways to do it. You can stab somebody or you can choke them or even snap there neck or poison them there is so many things that you can do to somebody to kiss them and its just ridiculous that everybody blames guns yes maybe it makes it easier to kill people but doesnt mean it will stop them.

  • Avoid the political Bandwagon.

We have about 35000 deaths per year due to guns, 2/3's of which are due to suicide. Yes we have more deaths than other countries due to guns but many of these countries have much higher suicide rates. So that leaves 1/3 of the gun deaths, 12000 people, to be an issue. Yes it is an issue but it ranks so low compared to other causes of death that I don't even understand why people talk.

Most of the YES people say it is a criminal issue. But a criminal can always get a gun even if it is illegal.

My only conclusion is that the government wants gun control to be an issue so people will forget about the real issues. The government is supposed to protect us and help make sure we have food on the table.

  • Guns are inanimate

How can an inanimate object cause a problem? Its not the weapon choice, but more about the person choosing to use the weapon. Its about someone wanting to cause harm upon others. Be it a gun a bomb a knife a sword or a rock its going to cause harm if you wield it for harm doing. Firearms have a trigger for operation. That trigger will not operate itself and the barrel will not point itself it knows not if its aimed at paper or person. It has no mind to think and no soul to place judgment on. It is an object not unlike any other. A gun needs an operator. It needs a person to choose how to use it. Guns are not the problem, but maybe people are.

  • Shall not be infringed!

Firearms are inanimate. The Human species is naturally violent. Everyone should be prepared to defend themselves at all times. Be responsible for your own safety. Remember when seconds count the police are only minutes away. If you believe making guns illegal would work better than making drugs illegal or work better than keeping illegal aliens out of our country then you must be dreaming. Laws don't solve these issues! Remember Prohibition? If enough good people would carry guns you could turn the tide. There is no panacea, no perfect world, just reality. Guns are not going away, so stop whining and asking the government to do everything for you. Take some responsibility for your own life and that of your family, buy the largest caliber weapon you can handle and carry it with you. Be part of the solution. Be a true American not a whining hater. The good will win in the end. We may not all make it, but what side do you want to be on?
