Are Hispanics, Latin Americans and/or Brown people becoming scapegoats and susceptible to hate crime?

Asked by: Hawlucha
  • I feel they will be

From the shooting of Trayvon Martin at the hands of a "white" Hispanic (Zimmerman couldn't be more browner than I am) to Trump's bombast claims that Mexican immigrants commit the most crimes such as rape and murder, it seems that the media are egging both blacks and whites to feel resentment towards Latinos in the US, where crimes against them feel justified simply because they belong to an ethnic group that committed crimes. It was the same situation that Arab Muslim immigrants went through during 9/11 and the War in Iraq and Afghanistan simply because the public assumed their religion was synonymous with terrorism.

  • No they are not

Statistics don't like. Hispanics and blacks are more likely to commit crimes than whites.

With blacks making up 13% of the population, they commit 49.4% of homicides in America.

Per capita, hispanics commit a much higher rate of homicides than whites, according to FBI stats.

The facts these 2 races commit so many crimes is not established enough. These 2 races unfortunately create WAY too much poverty and lower the quality of life WAY too much
