Are men more likely to be homophobic compared to women?

  • Yes, at least towards homosexual males

From what I've seen men are much more likely to be homophobic compared to women. Many men have negative attitudes towards the thought of homosexuality. Although, many men who say they disagree with homosexuality tend to have more of a negative attitude towards other men who are gay, but are usually fine with someone of the opposite sex being gay. Most women on the other hand are more likely to have a negative attitude towards lesbians, but not as often as men disliking other men who are gay.
