The Republicans are of course still a corporate backed political party, no different than the Democratic party. The Republicans are still good for business, the business of Wall Street that is, but that is no different than the Democratic Party. Obama could have easily been a Republican, and no one would have been able to tell the difference.
The republican idea of trickle down economics seems in theory to benefit business, but it doesn't. Give money to the business owners and they'll trickle it down in the form of wages to workers. Except that's not how it works. With no strict rules on how they spend those tax breaks, business owners simply pocket it. What they don't realize is that actually strangles business in the long run because if people can't buy goods and services, the business fails. Give the PEOPLE money, not businesses, and businesses will still prosper. This is what republicans don't get.
