Are the objectives of democracy best fulfilled through a separation of executive, legislative and judicial powers?

  • objectives of democracy

The objectives of democracy best fulfilled through a separation of executive, legislative and judicial powers this helps if they continue to use this so that things remain seperate and are able to be understood throughout the system. If you try to change something that has been working for a long time you might regret it.

  • These powers prevent tyranny.

The objectives of democracy are best fulfilled through a separation of executive, legislative and judicial powers. This is because it allows the government to operate under a system of checks and balances. It also allows people's legal issues to all be addressed rather thatn crowding one governmental resource. It also prevents tyranny.

  • Yes They Are

I believe the objectives of democracy are best fulfilled through a separation of executive, legislative, and judicial powers. It's like a ducks webbed foot. They are each interconnected, but they can still function within a certain degree on their own. The powers should be balanced and there should be separation between them.

  • Only in Theory are they best fullfilled this way

The separate powers, in idea, would divide the power equally through the government not allowing one branch to over take or control too much of the government at one time. This, in theory would not prove any one sect or one person to have dictatorship or any sort of over rule over the people or government. However, these branches no longer execute themselves properly. The powers are now completely over ran by the current president and the basic idea is pointless as the current president Obama has over used his power to over turn and divided powers of government.President Obama supporting a state bill that is passed through one of these branches as well as each and every veto he has placed on bills and processes they have implemented, has rendered the use of these separate branches void.In my belief, they serve no purpose, nor does or former democracy there is no seperate power any more, only the dictator type president we now have.
