There are positive outcomes when science engineers the proper types of genetic modification. All types of fruits, vegetables, grains and meats are better when modified to include additional nutritional options. It makes sense to imbue food resources with healthy vitamins, minerals and hormones that generate positive health outcomes for those who eat them.
Foods in their natural state provide abundant health and nutritional benefits for people. The huge variety of edible types of plant and animal life provides unique nutritional benefits. The overall impact on health of genetically modified food products has not been studied over a long time span and is therefore unknown.
Some countries have banned genetically modified foods, indicating that there is at least some question to whether or not they are safe for human consumption. Although there are benefits from the foods in terms of remedying food shortages, there are no proven facts that demonstrate a higher nutritional or health benefit from GMOs.
Genetically modified foods have no health benefits to the consumer. They do not taste better. They are not healthier. In fact, studies have shown that genetically modified foods not only do not impart any health or nutritional benefits, but they can actually cause harm to the body. Genetically modified foods have been linked to allergies, gastrointestinal problems, and generalized inflammation in the body. These foods should be avoided.
