It is true that nationalism is sweeping the globe, country by country. Many people object to the waves of immigration that are ongoing, primarily in Europe at this time. Each country seems to have their nationalistic candidate. Examples of this include Trump in America and Le Pen in France. Citizens are objecting to the chaotic nature of the mass immigrations and the failure of the immigrants to assimilate to their new country's culture.
We are seeing more Nationalist movements as unrest about and fear for immigrants and immigration grows. Some of these movements were already here and are just coming out of the woodwork, but others are new, and are increasing in thier size and their beliefs. Nationalist movements are growing at at alarming rate.
Yes, we are beginning to see a more nationalist movement across the globe resulting in deportations and immigration bans. Syrian and Middle Eastern refugees have been blamed for a lot of the problems in Germany and other countries. This has led to a feeling the borders should be closed to all but a country's own citizens.
Nationalism is definitely on the rise. Huffington Post reported that it is rising rapidly in Europe. Washington Post posted the results of a survey that supported its belief that nationalism is on the rise in Russia. More US nationalists are starting to surface, and I believe that directly affects immigration processes.
